One event that everyone always looks forward to is the outstanding and incredibly inspiring event, Mattel Party on the Pier! The Mattel Party on the Pier brings together a lot of fun activities while benefiting a phenomenal cause – what could be better than that?! By purchasing a ticket for Mattel Party on the Pier, having a blast at the incredible event and even getting the chance to meet some of your favorite celebrities, you are also helping the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA as all net proceeds from the event benefits the children’s hospital.
This year’s Mattel Party on the Pier will be returning to Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier on September 25th. The event has a lot of spectacular things planned out for the fun-filled day including unlimited rides, carnival games with prizes donated by Mattel, a VIP area with lunch presented by Wolfgang Puck Catering, and more. There will also be a few new additions to the event this year including a new kid’s fun lounge where kids will able to enjoy some amazing activities as well as a Selfie Station! How cool is that?! As with every year, a lot of Nickelodeon and Disney Channel stars, as well as celebrities from other movies and TV shows, will be present at the event.
Dr. Sherin Devaskar, physician-in-chief of Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA said, “Every year, Mattel Party on the Pier attracts a sellout crowd of all generations, and receives such generous corporate and foundation support. It has grown into a must-attend event for local families, and a day which former hospitalized children look forward to attending. Last year’s event raised a record amount for Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA and has allowed us to not only fund many high-priority programs for the hospital, but also to provide the children with continuity of care at our Westwood and Santa Monica locations. In addition, it enabled Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA to augment our telemedicine program which works to connect our world renowned pediatric sub-specialists with partner hospitals locally and globally” (source: press release).
According to the press release, “Last year, Mattel Party on the Pier netted over $800,000 for the hospital and helped launch high-priority programs that benefit boys and girls being treated at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA and around the world. Recent support has been directed towards clinical trials for teen and young adult patients in the pediatric hematology/oncology division, the development of new therapies for pediatric patients suffering from leukemias and lymphomas, and to support research in pediatric cancer predisposition and precision medicine.”
