It’s one of the most highly-anticipated and epic award shows of the year, it’s the renowned and prestigious MTV Video Music Awards! Every single one of MTV’s stupendous award shows always promises an unforgettable time filled with tons of sensational performances, incredible celebrity guests, and moments you’ll never expect. This year, the MTV Video Music Awards is bound to be even bigger and better than ever. Taking place at the “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, California on August 27th at 8:00 PM ET / PT, none other than the remarkable, singing phenomenon Katy Perry will be hosting the outstanding award show.

MTV continues to stand out as one phenomenal network that brings excitement to the next level with innovative ways to bring the very best of entertainment to all fans. MTV joined together with several, terrific Instagram stars to help bring out the nominees via Instagram Live – something that hasn’t been done yet at any other award show. Instagram stars Bretman Rock, Ariel Martin (Baby Ariel), DC Young Fly, Andrea Russet, Chantel Jeffries, Ricky Dillon, StassiBaby, Jay Versace and Nate Garner all helped reveal the complete list of nominees.

In addition, MTV is bringing out non-gendered categories at the VMAs, similar to what was done at their MTV Movie & TV Awards. The “Best Female Video” and “Best Male Video” categories have been joined together for the “Artist Of The Year” award.

It was also announced that in addition to hosting, Katy Perry will also be performing at the award show. She shared her excitement about hosting and said, “I’ve been training with MTV in zero gravity, eating astronaut ice cream, and I’m on a group text with Buzz Aldrin and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Come August 27th, I’ll be ready to be your MOONWOMAN! Brace for impact, kids.”

Kendrick Lamar leads the nominees with a total of eight. Host Katy Perry and The Weeknd tied with a total of five nominations each. The 2017 VMAs will be filled with a whole lot of musical fun, so be sure to get your voting hands ready and head on over to www.vma.mtv.com to help your fave musicians win big this year at the Video Music Awards!
