It has everything and more that equates to a perfect and brilliant film – from breathtakingly beautiful and awe-inspiring cinematography to the extraordinary, acting skills of the unrivaled cast. Adrift will break your heart and heal it all at once.
Adrift is based on the true story of Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp. This film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur. The screenwriters for this marvelous film are Aaron Kandell, Jordan Kandell and David Branson Smith. Adrift captures the beautiful feeling of love at first sight between a magnificent couple who loved with no boundaries. The movie showcased the refreshing feeling of being enamored with someone. Both Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp knew the moment that they met each other that they were destined to be together. Instantaneously, they were able to see how much they had in common – their incredible passion for each other and the thrill of being out at sea and sailing. They were able to share some of the greatest moments together that will last a lifetime. Their love was magical and as if it were taken out of a fairytale storybook.
Richard Sharp eventually got offered a terrific, business opportunity — to sail a yacht from Tahiti to San Diego. They were assured that it was bound to be an unforgettable experience, but they never expected the catastrophe they would encounter while at sea. The loving couple found themselves sailing into one of the most disastrous hurricanes. The storm destroyed their yacht and Richard Sharp was injured from the tragic hurricane. It was up to Tami Oldham to rely on her mental and physical strength to save herself, her loved one and keep alive during the 41 days they were adrift at sea.
Home was too far away for the couple and a safe haven was basically no where to be found in the middle of the ocean. Shailene Woodley did a stupendous job bringing this story to life and portraying the role of the admirable Tami Oldham. Her impeccable acting skills showed the unbelievable story of a phenomenal woman who fought to survive. Woodley left everyone speechless with the passion and feeling she put into one of the best roles she has taken on so far. The outstanding Sam Claflin, who played the role of Richard Sharp, put his heart and soul into this memorable role. We felt the pain he felt, the love he had for Tami and the dire need to continue to live. The cast did above and beyond to make this film as spectacular as it turned out to be. The cinematography was unlike any other film you have seen before. Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin used their endurance and were even the ones who jumped right into the ocean to film all of these touching scenes.
The exceptional cast-members and many celebrities came out to celebrate the premiere of Adrift on May 23, 2018 at the Regal L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Shailene Woodley looked absolutely stunning in a metallic dress as she was all smiles at the premiere of her movie. Sam Claflin looked super dashing and dapper as he posed on the carpet of the event. The sensational Tami Oldham came out to see her story be told on the big screen. It truly was an honor to see Tami Oldham and the excellent cast and crew attend this prestigious, blue carpet event.
I, Alexisjoyvipaccess had the honor of attending the premiere of Adrift and I can’t express into words how much of an impact this movie made on me and how much of an impact it will make to all those who see this stellar film. There is no movie quite like Adrift and it will leave you at the edge of your seat enthralled by every moment of the movie.
