“The first thing my son did when he got into class was take his shirt off and color next to the girls,” said comedic genius, Sebastian Maniscalco to a boisterous, sold-out show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California on May 1. “As a father, I couldn’t have been more proud.”

The unrivaled comedian has been traveling from city to city for his Nobody Does This Tour, and he never fails to deliver the most hilarious sets that will have your stomach hurting from laughing so much. Needless to say, Maniscalco has such a natural and effortless gift for bringing all the funny, and that’s exactly what he did during his back-to-back sets at Netflix is a Joke: The Festival, presented by Live Nation.

Always proud to talk about his Italian upbringing and continuing to foster his ever present “stay hungry” mentality, Maniscalco continues to prove just how much of an in-demand and unstoppable comedic hero he is. Not only does he bring in thousands and thousands of fans from across the nation to his shows, but he’s also working non-stop on some of the most awe-inspiring projects – he’s done everything from getting to work with the greats like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in The Irishman, to starring in the award-winning film, Green Book, having a mouth-watering food exploration in his series, Well Done with Sebastian Maniscalco streaming on Discovery+, and his new motion picture coming out titled, About My Father. Maniscalco’s schedule has been jam-packed, but that doesn’t stop him from giving his all at his shows and letting fans enjoy a night they’ll never forget. Seeing a montage of all of Maniscalco’s great successes and well-deserved accomplishments gave everyone in the audience chills moments before the unparalleled comic made his grand debut on stage rocking a gold-colored jacket.

Nobody does… it quite like Maniscalco. Before the show even started, Maniscalco introduced a fun twist to the well-known “Kiss Cam,” but this time, he did his very own “Sebastian Cam.” For any lucky attendees that got spotted on camera, they had to show off and mimic their favorite Maniscalco face. Is it this one perhaps?

He talked about how he was a special guest at the NFL Draft in Las Vegas the day prior to the show. And, if you’re a big Sebastian Maniscalco fan, you know that any mention of Vegas has to include Maniscalco’s loathing of the Igloo cooler. He cracked jokes at being a dad who had kids later on in life, and how most of the games he plays with his kids, he finds himself laying down on the floor being his kids’ patient and getting a “check-up.” He had an incredibly funny bit about how his dad goes to the bathroom and another one about when he and his wife had gone to see Hamilton… and didn’t really know what was happening.

You never truly realize how fast an hour goes by until you’re at a Sebastian Maniscalco show. The world of comedy has given us all a lot, but Maniscalco has certainly given us all even more so a reason to smile and laugh again, especially in a time like the pandemic when we needed it the most. At the end of his set, Maniscalco took the time to thank the audience and recognize everyone who had been affected by the pandemic – from those who may have lost family and friends, to people who lost their jobs during this unprecedented time.

Maniscalco mentioned how when the pandemic started, life as he knew it was also put on hold. Tours weren’t happening and there was no opportunity for him to be able to do what he loves – performing live in front of fans. But, he was able to find another outlet to share some humor with the world, and that’s when he started creating videos of his pandemic experience with his family and shared them on Instagram. The iconic comedian talked about how seeing everyone’s comments felt so rewarding for him and was a way for him to still be able to bring hilarity to people.

It’s one thing to watch a Sebastian Maniscalco special on Netflix, but it’s a whole other experience to see him live in person. His expressive facial expressions and his body language brings his comedy to another level.
