It was a beautiful day in LA as precious doggies came out to play! One event that Los Angelenos and dog lovers always look forward to is the Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s annual World Dog Day. This year’s event, held on May 17 at West Hollywood Park in West Hollywood, California, brought together Vanderpump fans, celebrities, dogs, and a whole lot of fun. The multi-faceted Lisa Vanderpump proudly called World Dog Day her “favorite day of the year” as she celebrated the eighth anniversary of this wondrous event.

Lisa Vanderpump, her husband Ken Todd, and The Vanderpump Dog Foundation brought sunshine and inspiration to World Dog Day—an event focused on helping furry friends find their forever homes and raising awareness about dog abuse and mistreatment, both domestically and internationally.

All the excitement at The Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s World Dog Day event

The day was filled with spectacular festivities. The Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s World Dog Day, presented by NutriSource, featured over 45 pet-centered vendors, live entertainment, an adorable doggy look-alike contest that had attendees gushing, and a doggy pie-eating contest. The event, which was co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood, also included a Doggy Adoption area where attendees could meet and interact with dogs up for adoption.

“This is a day where everybody gets together, there’s a feel good factor,” said Lisa Vanderpump in our interview. “We need more of these days. We need more of this feeling. There’s been so much trouble and strife in the world, negativity, and this is something where everybody agrees on. Everybody’s here. It’s a common cause. Even when we’ve taken resolutions to Congress, it’s always bipartisan. People agree on the love of dogs, so it’s really wonderful.”

Many fantastic celebrities came to World Dog Day to show their support for Lisa Vanderpump and the impactful work she and The Vanderpump Dog Foundation are doing. Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval, as well as Vanderpump Villa season two cast-members Anthony Bar, Aidan McHugh, Sam Terry, and Hagen Bach, were among the special guests.
