There’s something wrong with Ben. 2026 is kicking off with a chimpanzee horror flick that everyone is rushing to theaters to see. Paramount Pictures, Tremendous Communications, and A Bathing Ape Los Angeles (BAPE) hosted an epic tastemaker screening event for the thriller film Primate, and it was a party fit for an adrenaline-filled, jaw-dropping movie. The screening took place on Jan. 6 at the Landmark Theater in Hollywood, California.
After getting a first look at the film, guests then made their way over to BAPE Los Angeles for a terrific after-party. Fashion met cinema at the renowned streetwear store, which immersed attendees in the film through themed decorations and activations. Tons of excitement filled the event. Primate stars Johnny Sequoyah, Troy Kotsur, and Gia Hunter were all in attendance to greet guests and share their enthusiasm for the film’s release.
Additional highlights from the event included “a Primate-themed grazing table with light bites and an open bar alongside Medase-sponsored mocktails, BAPE styling experiences, and film-inspired activations and giveaways. A custom engraving station allowed attendees to personalize Primate military-style dog tags, while DJ BKim played music throughout the evening” (source: press release).
Johnny Sequoyah shared the photo below on her Instagram account in honor of the movie’s release and wrote, “bts of the monkey business🙈 i love these people!! go see our movie!! bring a hand to hold… maybe an eye mask too❗️”
