He started off as a young, first grader who entered in a talent show in Queensland, Australia and years later he’s now a teenage boy who’s made his way showing his talent halfway across the world to the United States where he’s working on his debut album. Filled with talent and big dreams his name is Jordan Jansen.

Q1. What inspired you to start singing?

Jordan: Well, I first started singing when I was 6 years old and it was because my sister always did eisteddfods and things like that and I always got dragged around with her and then one day my school was holding a ‘Talent Quest’ and I really wanted to enter. I had no idea what I was going to do… In the end I decided to sing a song and I came 2nd out of my whole school and I was really ecstatic. Ever since then I have kept on singing. I was around 8 years old when I started with my first vocal coach.

Q2. You’ve spent some time in LA recording for your first album, what type of music would we be looking forward to hear on your first album?

Jordan: On my album, I have co-written all of the songs with some of the biggest writers out there and I have been really lucky to have my management (David Sonenberg) and my producer (Toby Gad). We haven’t been going for a direction with the album, I have just been writing a whole heap of songs that reflect to me and my life, but the main style is probably pop.

Q3. Starting off as a regular boy from Queensland and now being in a studio recording for your first album, how does it feel seeing how far you’ve come in such a short period of time?

Jordan: I can’t believe everything that has happened in such a short period of time. I uploaded my first video to youtube on my original channel in 2006 and its been crazy ever since. But the last few years especially have been amazing. I am very grateful to all of my fans and supporters and everyone who has been with me throughout my journey and those of who will stick with me till the end.

Q4. If you could collaborate with any musician, who would it be?

Jordan: I would want to collaborate with Bruno Mars. He is my favorite artist of all time and he is a very talented musician and is someone to look up to.

Q5. Years from now, where would you like to see yourself and your music?

Jordan: In a few years time, as an artist I would really like to see my music inspiring people to go for their goals and make the world a better a place. I know it’s a big goal but it’s something that I would really like to see happen one day.

Q6. When you’re not working on your music, what do you enjoy doing?

Jordan: I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and going to the beach and the movies.

Q7. Through your music, if you could bring out one message to your fans, what would it be?

Jordan: Through my music, the main message that I want to give to my fans is to keep going at your dreams and never give up.
