The radiant and talented actress Imani Hakim became an instant fan-favorite in her role as ‘Tonya Rock’ in the UPN/CW hit show, Everybody Hates Chris. A big congratulations to the lovely Imani Hakim on landing the role of Gabby Douglas in Lifetime’s upcoming original movie “The Gabby Douglas Story”!!

“The Gabby Douglas Story” will enter in the life of the sensational, dedicated, and inspiring olympic gold-medalist in gymnastics: Gabby Douglas. According to the press release, “The movie details the inspiring true story of the international gymnastics phenomenon, who overcame overwhelming odds to become the first African American ever to be named Individual All-round Champion in artistic gymnastics at the Olympics.”

The Sony Pictures Television produced film – “The Gabby Douglas Story” will feature Imani Hakim playing the role of Gabby Douglas as both a teenager and young adult. Imani Hakim will share the screen with Sydney Mikayla (who will play Gabby Douglas as a child), Regina King (who will play Gabby Douglas’s mother), and S. Epatha Merkerson (who will play Gabby Douglas’s grandmother).
