You know the incredibly famous internet cat sensations: Grumpy Cat, Hamilton the Hipster Cat and Nala Cat (to name a few!); but what if I told you that you, yes… YOU have the power in your hands to choose who will be the next internet cat sensation? Friskies has just opened up voting to the public for their third annual “The Friskies” – a prestigious honor and award for the best internet cat videos.
After watching (and enjoying!) over 2,000 entries of cat videos – the top twelve finalists have finally been announced. Drumroll…
The three finalists for the Funny category led by Youtube sensation: Grace Helbig are – “Such Determination”, “Cat Vs. Flip Flop” and “Kitty Massage”.
The three finalists for the Res-cute category led by Youtube sensation: Jesse Wellens are – “Where’s Waffles?”, “Lilac Giving Brother A Bath”, “Cat and Baby Play Peekaboo”.
The three finalists for the Epic category led by Youtube sensation: Zach King are – “How Bob Gets His Exercise”, “Charlie Pees On Potty”, and “My Amazing Pool Playing Cat”.
The three finalists for the Strange category led by Youtube sensation: Will Braden are – “Crazy Cat!”, “Dumpster Kitty”, and “Hot Days of Summer”.
YOU can vote for your favorite cat video from August 11, 2014 up until September 8, 2014. Not only will you be having a cat-tastic and meow-derful time watching these magnificent cat videos, but by voting you are also helping to give back – it’s a win, win! For each vote, Friskies will donate a can of Friskies wet foods to shelter partners – up to 250,000 cans donated. Friskies will also be donating more than $20,000 to shelter partners! How amazing?!

According to the press release, “Visitors to TheFriskies.com may vote daily; one vote per video, per person every day. Friskies asks voters to consider the judging criteria when voting:
- Originality and overall artistic impression
- Audience appeal and entertainment quality
- Sense that there’s a story being told
- Portraying a cat’s perspective”
Winners of “The Friskies” get a very special treat – each winner in each category will win $5,000 and the renown and honorable golden catuette. The video with the most votes will receive the “Grand Prize” of $25,000. Each of the category winners will receive a year supply of Friskies cat foods and treats and will be flown out to Los Angeles to attend “The Friskies” Award Gala.
