What is the onethe only award show that brings together your favorite sports stars and athletes, your favorite Nickelodeon stars and a whole lot of slime? It’s the renowned and prestigious Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports! Nickelodeon is known for creating masterpieces after masterpieces – from their top-ranked, highly-acclaimed TV shows, to their exciting and remarkable award shows, nothing could ever possibly beat the excitement that Nickelodeon brings to fans of all ages! On July 16, 2015 – sports history was made as the incredible Nickelodeon brought its Kids’ Choice Sports award show to the UCLA Pauley Pavilion and the day was truly legendary. From baseball sensation, Derek Jeter being honored with the “Legend Award” and getting covered in slime to basketball phenomenon Stephen Curry winning multiple awards – the second annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports was one of the most unforgettable award shows that have ever surfaced this planet!

Nickelodeon provided fans the opportunity to see their favorite sports stars and Nickelodeon stars gather on the orange carpet through live streaming. Fans were incredibly thrilled to see the stars of their favorite Nickelodeon shows and their favorite athletes pose for photographers on the orange carpet. The amazing award show continued with tons of adrenaline-packed events including the host himself, Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson getting covered in slime. “The Haunted Hathaways” stars Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin were phenomenal commentators for the event. Basketball sensation and MVP, Stephen Curry was honored with multiple awards and even had everyone at the award show say “Happy Birthday” to his incredibly adorable, sensational daughter, Riley Curry. Singing sensation, Ciara came up on stage to also join Russell Wilson and do the “Nae Nae” and to close off the remarkable and mesmerizing award show, Nickelodeon put together a touching and inspiring presentation to honor Derek Jeter with the “Legend Award” showing how much Derek Jeter has impacted and inspired the lives of people worldwide. A Nickelodeon award show isn’t complete without the slime, of course, and Derek Jeter was doused with gold slime at the event.

According to the press release, “Throughout the night, three kids had the opportunity to compete in one athletic feat each as part of Nickelodeon’s “Triple Shot Challenge,” which gave them the opportunity to win $50,000.  Two of the talented kids kicked and shot their ways to victory in the soccer and basketball challenges.  Thirteen-year-old Roee Maor played in the soccer competition, where he had five attempts to hit the crossbar from 30 yards away in 60 seconds. The Demarest, New Jersey, native nailed the crossbar on the first attempt, taking home a check for $50,000. A short time later, 14-year-old Jonathan Clark of Monrovia, Calif. sunk a half-court shot on the first attempt of five, also walking away with a $50,000 prize.

Additional highlights from the sports celebration included: Little League phenom Mo’Ne Davis smashing a blimp off of Nick Cannon’s head with a baseball on the second throw; sports trick-shot group Dude Perfect surprise sliming Wilson after Detroit Pistons’ Andre Drummond, U.S. figure skater Gracie Gold and Philadelphia Eagles’ DeMarco Murray missed the target during a dizzying challenge; a group of 16 kids beating Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII champion Marshawn Lynch in a battle of  tug-o-war; U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team champions Carli Lloyd and Abby Wambach speeding through the finish line first against Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green and Klay Thompson during a tricycle relay race; and Grammy-nominated artist Ciara and host Wilson dancing the “Nae Nae.”

Words will never be sufficient enough to fully describe just how stupendous the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports was for everyone – the athletes, the Nickelodeon stars, the attendees and all the viewers at home.
