We’ve seen her speeding through the swimming lane, but that’s not the only thing we see her doing. We see her inspiring people to follow after their dreams, encouraging everyone to do the impossible and make it possible and she has also changed the lives of many. From just the description alone, you all have probably thought of someone right away – none other than the stupendous and incredibly inspiring Simone Manuel. Simone Manuel is known for being such a talented and phenomenal swimmer. She’s also known for winning two gold medals and two silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics; but in addition to all of that, she’s also made history as the first African American woman to win an individual event in Olympic swimming.

Simone Manuel has made one of the greatest impacts in this world motivating everyone to reach their goals. She is more than a magnificent, admirable Olympic swimmer, she is a great role model that shows that with hard work, dedication and passion, anything is possible. She is an influential figure in this world. When we see Simone Manuel leaving us in awe in the swimming pool, we also see an icon, a swimming legend, a history-maker and America (and the world’s hero) right in front of us! Thank you Simone for being someone everyone can look up to and we celebrate such an extraordinary individual!
