It’s time to start your countdowns as MTV’s 2017 Woodies is making its way on over to all music lovers sooner than you think! Each year, MTV manages to make the MTV Woodies celebration even more exciting and epic and this year’s event is bound to be unforgettable. The 2017 MTV Woodies will be taking place on March 16th live in Austin, Texas at the South by Southwest Festival and will be hosted by rapping sensation, Rick Ross. More excitement continues as MTV has just announced the spectacular musical line-up of performers at this year’s MTV Woodies.
Desiigner, D.R.A.M., Lil Yachty, Jidenna, Khalid and Starley will all be joining previously announced performer and host, Rick Ross and will be performing on stage at the 2017 MTV Woodies. The Chainsmokers, A$AP Ferg, Young M.A and Bibi Bourelly will all be joining in on the fun and presenting at the Woodies this year.
Khalid was thrilled to join the lineup for this year’s 2017 MTV Woodies and said, “I’m so excited to be performing at the 2017 Woodies! Just last year I remember seeing Kehlani perform and it’s surreal to think that a year later, I have an album out and I’m performing alongside so many other great artists.” (source: press release)
MTV will also have its emerging artist “Woodies” music festival prior to the MTV Woodies starting at 8:00 PM and will be hosted by the amazing Terrence J. D.R.A.M., Lil Yachty, Young M.A, Bibi Bourelly, MUNA and PVRIS are all set to perform at the emerging artist “Woodies” music festival which can be seen on MTV Live and via livestream at woodies.mtv.com.
The MTV Woodies has been a trending topic all week as fans were able to vote via Snapchat for who they want to see win in four categories, “Cover Woodie,” “Songwriter of the Year,” “Woodie to Watch,” and “Woodie of the Year.” All of the winners will be announced on March 16th during the event.
You can also continue to join in on all of the MTV Woodies fun by taking part in MTV Woodies and REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups’ engagement campaign to “co-sign” the Woodies artist you think is about to break. You can do so by using the custom hashtag #WoodiesCoSignARTIST plus the microphone emoji, which will also give you the chance to win a free music subscription. Free music? Sounds amazing! The top mentioned fan cosign will be announced at the live show of the MTV Woodies.
