“Mattel Party on the Pier is an iconic event for UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. It supports innovative programs and the discovery of novel therapies that make a true difference in the lives of children not only in Los Angeles, but around the world. For me, it is so inspiring and rewarding to see our young patients who are able to attend with their families enjoying this time on the pier,” said Dr. Sherin Devaskar, physician-in-chief of UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.

The Mattel Party on the Pier event has made many efforts in helping the patients at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. According to the press release, “Recent philanthropy has supported Chase Child Life specialist education; intestinal rehabilitation for pediatric surgery patients; pediatric sarcoma and leukemia programs in the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology; and the Pediatric Global Scholars Program, which funds third-year pediatric residents who train globally.”
