It’s incredibly important to know your body and put your health as the number one priority. The awe-inspiring American Cancer Society hosted its Giants Of Science Gala on October 14, 2017, where many admirable individuals were honored for their efforts in helping to find cures for cancer and sharing their stories about their own battles with cancer to bring awareness and help others be more aware of their body and any possible risks to their health. The stupendous event, which took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, California, gathered together many celebrities and research grant recipients to support an incredible event and help change the lives of many.

The phenomenal event truly opened the eyes of many and encouraged everyone that you too can help make a difference. Whatever you can do – whether it’s donating, participating in walks that help benefit cancer organizations, or just keeping up with your health and visiting the doctor anytime you feel wary about something – all of these things are ways you can make a difference in your life and in the lives of others.

The American Cancer Society Giants of Science Gala was hosted by the brilliant Samantha Harris – who has been public about her struggle and survival from breast cancer. After sharing her story, Samantha Harris has impacted the lives of many to always trust your gut and be mindful of the signs that your body is telling you.

Giants of Science honors current research grant recipients whose work has been selected by a national committee for commendation and individuals who have turned their private cancer experience into a public learning opportunity and furthered the Society’s attack on cancer from every angle. This year’s research honorees are Guillaume F. Chanfreau, PhD of UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center; Thomas Graeber, PhD, of UCLA; Mei Kong, PhD of City of Hope Cancer Center; Sunita K. Patel, PhD of City of Hope Medical Center; and Inder M. Verma, PhD of the Salk Institute.  Simone I. Smith, a thirteen-year cancer survivor and seven-year American Cancer Society global ambassador, continues to instill hope for all people suffering from cancer, and she’s making a difference within the cancer community by giving back through her jewelry collection.” (source: press release)

Celebrities including Maejor, Ken Paves, Chris Strandburg, and many others also attended the event. Flip Or Flop‘s Tarek El Moussa was present as the event’s Mission Speaker.

After celebrities snapped their pictures on the red carpet of the event, attendees were able to enjoy a wonderful VIP reception followed by a spectacular dinner. All of the proceeds from the outstanding night went directly to fund cancer research.
