American Woman is a movie about family, loss and overcoming obstacles that define one’s life. In fact, the prolific actress Sienna Miller couldn’t have said it any better. She told The Hollywood Reporter at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, “It’s about what it is to be human and it’s about how you take your knocks and how you respond to them.” The film follows the journey that Deb, played by Sienna Miller, goes through as she copes with the mysterious disappearance of her daughter. Throughout the movie, we see Deb change as a person and we find ourselves becoming more involved and captivated by her and her family as each scene goes by.
Directed by the brilliant Jake Scott, American Woman tells the story of a mother who raises her grandson after her daughter goes missing. As the years go by, viewers see the day-to-day challenges Deb must go through all while holding on to the hope that she can get closure of what happened to her daughter. We see Deb during her most vulnerable moments as well as her triumphant ones where she shows bravery and resilience. Of course, Deb couldn’t get through all of her struggles without the help of her family-members. Deb’s sister and her family live right across the street from her and are there to embrace her with open arms, help her during her toughest of times and set her straight when they know she is doing something that isn’t right for her. Needless to say, the whole cast consisting of Sienna Miller, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Paul, Will Sasso, Amy Madigan, Sky Ferreira and Alex Neustaedter all did such a superb job drawing viewers into this story that is bound to bring tears to your eyes.
The wonderful cast of American Woman and director Jake Scott were all smiles as they attended the premiere of their film on June 5, 2019 at the ArcLight Cinemas Hollywood in Hollywood, California. Actor Casey Affleck also attended the event. Sienna Miller looked glamorous in a gold attire celebrating her extraordinary film and Christina Hendricks looked stunning in a colorful and elaborate dress at the event. After the screening of the movie, a special after-party took place at The Highlight Room Grill at the Dream Hotel rooftop.
I, Alexisjoyvipaccess had a magnificent time attending the premiere of American Woman. As you watch this movie, you’ll notice how immersed you are into the lives of every character. In a way, Deb’s family becomes your family as you can truly feel the love and care they have for one another. American Woman is filled with emotion and is a must-see for everyone.
