We all know the story of the iconic Bruce Wayne… and now it’s time to learn the story of his legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth. In Epix’s captivating, new series, Pennyworth, viewers are brought back to 1960’s London as we meet Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who starts a security company. Pennyworth, written by Bruno Heller and directed by Danny Cannon (the geniuses behind the hit series, Gotham) is unlike anything we have ever seen before. It’s clear to see that Heller and Cannon have a knack for creating Batman-inspired masterpieces as Gotham was an instant fan-favorite amongst viewers. However, with Pennyworth, Heller and Cannon don’t focus on the life of Bruce Wayne, but rather creatively chronicle the life of the renowned butler that is Alfred Pennyworth.

As soon as the pilot episode begins, 60’s British Invasion music sets the scene of the show with songs from The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. The atmosphere and setting of the series is so stylish and artistic and brings the swanky mod vibe that 1960’s Britain was known for. Every scene of the show is jam-packed with action. The first episode alone plays out like a movie, so you could only imagine how great the rest of the series will be.

Of course, this show couldn’t have been brought to life without the unrivaled and indescribable talents of the remarkable cast consisting of Jack Bannon, who plays the role of Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge, who stars as Thomas Wayne, Emma Corrin, who portrays Esmé, and Paloma Faith, who takes on the role of Bet Sykes. This show couldn’t have been casted any better. Jack Bannon’s dapper nature allows him to effortlessly take on the role of Pennyworth and excel in it greatly. Emma Corrin perfectly captures the sweet yet strong demeanor of her character in a brilliant way. Ben Aldridge’s performance is spectacular and he truly does justice to his character. Paloma Faith once again wows viewers with her show-stopping performance in the series. If there is one thing that needs to be said, it’s this – you need to watch Pennyworth. It’s jaw-dropping. It’ll have you at the edge of your seat wondering what is yet to come. And, it’s a completely riveting, noir series.

A show this outstanding calls for a premiere just as extravagant! The cast of Pennyworth along with writer Bruno Heller and director Danny Cannon had a sensational time celebrating the premiere of their series at Harmony Gold in Los Angeles, California on July 24, 2019. The steps to the venue were draped with a red carpet as celebrities attended the event and enjoyed a splendid pre-reception. Inside the theater, guests were able to choose some English treats to snack on including Smarties and Cadbury chocolate. After a screening of the pilot episode, Heller, Cannon and the cast of Pennyworth took part in a Q&A. Guests then headed over to the Sunset Tower for a marvelous and incredibly classy after-party. A special surprise took place at the event with none other than Paloma Faith giving a breathtaking performance at the party.
