It’s time to sleep with the lights on as terrifying tales and ghoulish moments head to Nickelodeon with the return of Are You Afraid of the Dark? The fan-favorite, hit 90’s series is back to bring some more thrills to our TV screens and things are definitely bound to get a whole lot scarier. Are You Afraid of the Dark? returns as a three-part series premiering on Friday, October 11th at 7:00 PM ET/PT. Parts two and three of the limited series airs on October 18th and October 25th, respectively. In the series, viewers are introduced to a new group of kids in the Midnight Society who tell the frightening story about the Carnival of Doom, only to realize the story is actually coming to life!
Are You Afraid of the Dark? brings a whole lot of spooks and scares to a new generation. The series stars a group of immensely talented actors and actresses including Sam Ashe Arnold, Miya Cech, Tamara Smart, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Lyliana Wray and Rafael Casal. Needless to say, viewers will definitely be at the edge of their seats the entire time while watching this nerve-wrecking and chilling series.
Nickelodeon always knows how to celebrate in style and hosted a spook-tacular event in honor of the debut of Are You Afraid of the Dark? The terrific event took place at CREEP LA in Downtown Los Angeles on September 25, 2019. Attendees were sure in for a treat with creeps at every corner.
The walk-through experience was one-of-a-kind and definitely a perfect way to get excited for the series premiere and get in the Halloween spirit. The event was incredibly interactive, bringing your worst nightmares to life with petrifying characters. In one corner, guests found themselves getting up close and personal with a clown. The clown, who truly brought extra fear to the event, tricked many guests into trying to reach out for a balloon animal that he popped right in front of them. Think Pennywise the Clown, but even scarier.
Other characters that definitely had all attendees #shook included a hair-cutter, who had guests feeling paranoid everywhere they went, a masked character, a fortune-teller, a traumatized photographer and more. There was even an area to get your own portrait done by the spookily-talented Charles, who added a special twist and creepy flair to every portrait. All of the characters did such an exceptional job scaring the life out of everyone who attended the event. In fact, they even gathered together for a showcase which gave everyone goosebumps.
For those who easily get scared (like myself), there was a room full of sweets that’s definitely more of the perfect speed for all of the sweet-tooths. Guests were able to eat some cotton candy and make their own bag of treats including Are You Afraid of the Dark?-inspired cookies, taffy, sour gummy worms, chocolate with added gummy / edible eyes and fingers and a station to make candy apples. There also was an area for attendees to chow down on some hot dogs and sliders because guests definitely needed to fuel up after getting oh, so scared all night.
