Five, middle-school girls create a baby-sitting business in Netflix’s brand new, live-action series, The Baby-Sitters Club, based on the best-selling book series by Ann M. Martin. With over 180 million copies sold, The Baby-Sitters Club book series has resonated with a countless amount of fans and has stood the test of time. Needless to say, fans of the book series will be thrilled to see The Baby-Sitters Club adapted into a live-action Netflix show. This show will be a favorite for both old and new fans of the renowned novel series.
The Baby-Sitters Club “follows the friendship and adventures of Kristy Thomas, Mary-Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer as the middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut” (source: press release).
Netflix recently revealed the talented cast of The Baby-Sitters Club comprising of Sophie Grace as Kristy Thomas, Malia Baker as Mary-Anne Spier, Momona Tamada as Claudia Kishi, Shay Rudolph as Stacey McGill and Xochitl Gomez as Dawn Schafer. Previously announced cast-members include Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein. Profound actress Alicia Silverstone will play the role of Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, “the selfless single-mother of Kristy Thomas and love interest of all around good guy Watson Brewer, played by Mark Feuerstein” (source: press release).
The Baby-Sitters Club author, Ann M. Martin will also serve as producer for the series, with Rachel Shukert as showrunner and Lucia Aniello as executive producer and director.
