Nickelodeon brought slime-central to celebrities and viewers at home with the Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together special, which aired on May 2nd. Although this year’s slime-tastic Kids’ Choice Awards celebration was held virtually due to COVID-19, there was just as much excitement, surprises and great fun in store. The innovative rendition of the awards show was hosted by the marvelous Victoria Justice and celebrated the celebrities, TV shows, movies, and games that kids had voted for to win a coveted blimp.
Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together was filled with a countless amount of unforgettable moments and incredibly unique acceptance speeches. Fans were treated to exciting, special appearances by phenomenal stars including the cast of Avengers: Endgame (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner) as well as Dwayne Johnson, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Camila Cabello, Millie Bobby Brown, Ellen DeGeneres, BTS, Shawn Mendes, Lil Nas X, Dove Cameron, Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, SSSniperWolf, cast members of Stranger Things (Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink), the cast of Henry Danger (Jace Norman, Riele Downs, Sean Ryan Fox, Cooper Barnes, Ella Anderson, Michael D. Cohen) and more.
Global phenomenon Ariana Grande shared how Nickelodeon will always hold a “tremendous place in her heart” and her love for SpongeBob SquarePants during her acceptance speech for the “Favorite Female Music Star” award as seen in the video below.

The talented Asher Angel got everyone up on their feet at home dancing along to his performance of his hit song, “All Day.” Of course, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is all about the slime, slime, slime! Many celebrities couldn’t hide from the slime, like YouTube sensation and pop star JoJo Siwa, who found slime secretly placed in different areas of her home… only to wind up getting slimed herself! YouTuber and judge on Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Musical Family, David Dobrik also got doused in slime.
David Dobrik shared his enthusiasm over his big win at the KCAs and posted the photo as seen below on his Instagram account. Along with the post he wrote, “TWO YEARS IN A ROW. Oh my god. Love u guys thank you thank you thank you!! ❤️.”
Nickelodeon also honored NBA champion LeBron James with the 2020 Generation Change Award for his commitment to creating real and lasting change through education with The LeBron James Family Foundation.
The slime mania continued with an exclusive look at Nickelodeon’s Slime in Space Voyage. Nickelodeon also gave an amazing, sneak peek at its new, live-action series, The Astronauts from Imagine Kids+Family. Take a look at the official teaser trailer for the series below. Needless to say, we can’t wait for this extraordinary show to premiere!
To show its continued support towards kids, Nickelodeon also donated $1 million to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America, to help families that are affected by COVID-19.
