On October 6, 2020, the music world was put on pause with the tremendous loss of the legendary guitarist and musician, Eddie Van Halen. When the guitar master Eddie Van Halen’s fingers touched his iconic “Frankenstein” guitar, nothing short of pure masterpieces was brought to life. Needless to say, there’s an immeasurable void in the music industry after the passing of EVH, but his incredibly impactful legacy will forever live on.

To honor the late and great Eddie Van Halen, the immensely talented, Los Angeles-based artist, Robert Vargas is making every EVH fan’s dream come true with an awe-inspiring mural dedicated to the consummate musician. Located at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, California, Vargas has been sharing his process creating the breathtakingly beautiful artwork with fans both in person, who come and see the mural being created in real time, as well as virtually, through his daily Instagram lives. Gifted artist Vargas captured every unique detail of Eddie Van Halen that made Eddie… Eddie – from the passion and energy he had playing his guitar, to the bold and bright red color of his Frankenstein, and to the Van Halen necklace, Vargas’ “Long Live the King” mural is something to marvel over.

 

A countless amount of fans and celebrities have flocked over to the Guitar Center to see the extraordinary Robert Vargas in action, including renowned guitarist Zakk Wylde.

 

Vargas has and continues to wow the world with his magnificent talent. His Instagram bio reads “artist based in Downtown Los Angeles, but for the world!” and that encompasses exactly what Vargas does. Many of his stunning and remarkable artworks are displayed in La La Land, but it impacts beyond the city, it impacts beyond the state, and the country – it impacts the world. Vargas brings people together of all walks of life through his artwork. He has created a brilliant mural of Kobe Bryant, a “The Doors” mural in Venice, California and his jaw-dropping, sky-high Angelus mural in Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles. It goes without saying, Vargas’ art speaks volumes.
