You know what they say, a dog is a man’s best-friend; and in the case of Scott Turner and Hooch, this dog is not only a best-friend, but the perfect partner to crack down on major crimes. In Disney+‘s highly-anticipated series, Turner & Hooch, the story continues from the iconic Tom Hanks-led film of the same name. In the show, hard-working overachiever and US Marshal, Scott Turner has a lot on his plate – he’s busy at work, dealing with a recent breakup… and to top it all off, his sister Laura brings in a very special surprise for him… a huge French Mastiff who is prone to causing some ruckus! Just what he needs right? Wrong!
Turner & Hooch stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, the son of Detective Scott Turner, portrayed by Tom Hanks in the original film. The series has a perfect blend of incredible, action-packed scenes, tons of heartfelt moments and a whole lot of laughs. Expanding upon a story that is an all-time classic and has become a favorite for so many, Disney+’s spectacular, new Turner & Hooch series truly is a gem. The show is not a remake, instead, the cast and crew made something new and fresh while still giving justice to the movie that started this howl-worthy journey.
The cast of Disney+’s Turner & Hooch had a pawsome time celebrating their remarkable series at the world premiere red carpet event which took place on July 15, 2021 at the Westfield Century City Mall Atrium in Los Angeles, California. The cast of the show including Peck, Becca Tobin, Vanessa Lengies, Anthony Ruivivar, Jeremy Maguire, Lyndsy Fonseca, Brandon Jay McLaren, Reginald VelJohnson, Cristina Rosato, creator/EP Matt Nix, EP/Director McG, EP Josh Levy, EP Michael Horowitz, and EP Mary Viola were all smiles at the event. Consummate actor John Stamos also attended the premiere to show support to his former Grandfathered co-star and good friend, Josh Peck.
Attendees at the premiere enjoyed pooch-inspired activations including a fun photo opp and a bandana embroidery station where guests were able to get personalized bandanas for their furry friends. Guests also got to snack on scrumptious food and drinks at the event and their pups were able to join in on the excitement with some PUPTAILS – yes, you read that right! Dogs were able to have a blast at the premiere in style and sip on some dog-friendly cocktails.
Before attendees got a first look at the series, Josh Peck was joined by Executive Producers Matt Nix and McG to share some special, opening remarks.
“To be celebrating this show that we’re all so proud of, to be working with Disney+, they’re just absolutely crushing it, and 20th Television – it’s just an honor to make a show and hopefully enhance people’s memories,” said Peck.

Then, it was showtime! Guests at the premiere got a sneak peek at the first two episodes of the magnificent series. One scene viewers will be saying “aww” 🥺 and the next scene viewers will be saying “omg!” 😱 because the show takes on many exciting and unexpected turns. After watching the show, it’s clear to see how much effort and passion the cast, creators and crew put into making this series as extraordinary as it is. Between testing their endurance with the many adrenaline-filled scenes to the challenge of working with not just one, but five different dogs playing the role of Hooch, there’s a lot that went into the filming and creative process as a whole for Turner & Hooch, and it’s truly evident in each and every episode of this unrivaled show.
