What happens when you bring together a professional golfer, a celebrity, and a Nickelodeon star? Well, they just so happen to make an amazing team! It’s time to tee up your golf ball and get ready for a whole lot of slimetastic fun as Nickelodeon recently announced that the network will be bringing to life a brand-new golf special titled the Nickelodeon Slime Cup. Tons of exciting challenges (and a whole lot of slime) will take place on the golf course in this spectacular special.
According to the press release, “The hour-long special will feature a “Nick-ified” golf course with one-of-a-kind tee boxes, far-out fairways and greens, physical challenges, and lots of slime, culminating with an exciting final hole taking place inside the iconic Rose Bowl stadium.”
There will be four teams of three joining in on the excitement, each consisting of a professional golfer, a celeb, and a Nickelodeon star. Top-ranked professional golfers Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson and Jon Rahm; NFL superstars Saquon Barkley and Justin Herbert; actor, host and author Terry Crews; and Nick stars Isaiah Crews, Kate Godfrey, Jaidyn Triplett and Tyler Wladis will all be getting their game on during this fantastic special. And, of course, they’ll be needing YOU to tune in and cheer them on. Nickelodeon’s That Girl Lay Lay star, the fabulous Gabrielle Neveah Green will be providing commentary in the booth during the special, just like the great enthusiasm she brought calling the game during the NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon. More outstanding participants in the Nickelodeon Slime Cup will be announced at a later date.
So, here’s how the game will go down. “Teams will compete in a two-round tournament, with holes inspired by fan-favorite Nickelodeon shows, to reach “The Unfairway”—an unpredictable final round where players battle it out to win the ultimate Nickelodeon Slime Cup, a Slime-green blazer and the epic honor of getting slimed” (source: press release).
Production on this magnificent special will begin this month, with a premiere set for this summer on Nickelodeon.
