Wake up the members of my nation! From creating some of the most unique sculptures to his frequent run-ins with fire, Spencer Shay is the older brother we all wish we had. It goes without saying that Jerry Trainor is a TV sitcom icon. He’s been on some pretty wild adventures taking on the role of Spencer Shay in the fan-favorite show, iCarly, doing everything from eating salsa as a baby, to spending some time inside a giant cup of coffee, and making some spaghetti tacos. Trainor is the one person who can make us all laugh until our stomachs hurt and he is such a pivotal part in making iCarly the smash hit of a series that it is.
After almost a decade since the last episode of the original iCarly series aired, the reboot show’s highly-anticipated first season premiered in June 2021 to high praises and rave reviews. The series is everything and more that OG iCarly fans could have asked for. It allows us all to grow along with Carly, Spencer, and Freddie, while also getting to meet some new friends along their fantastic journey. The reboot is fresh and fun, while still giving a great sense of nostalgia from the original series. With a show that was always ahead of its time (iCarly was literally about online video creator, Carly before being an influencer was even a thing), this new series continues its innovative approach to humor and exciting, sitcom storytelling.
What makes iCarly so very special is all of the fun-loving characters in the show. We owe a lot of our childhood, and now adulthood, laughter to the unparalleled Jerry Trainor who brings all the energy tenfold. Trainor has such a raw and genuine talent for entertaining people and his comedic prowess is top-notch. Nickelodeon veteran Trainor is the kind of person you always want to be around. His personality is electric and his great enthusiasm for life is contagious. The show we grew up with, is all grown up, and it’s a terrific treat to be able to join Carly, Spencer, Freddie, Harper, and Millicent on this exciting ride.
