Why do it alone, when you can do it together? High-school popular girl, Drea has the perfect life – a great set of friends, an amazing boyfriend… well, actually, scratch that last part. Life seemed to be going good for Drea until her boyfriend Max ruined her life and leaked her sex tape to the whole school. In comes transfer student, Eleanor, someone who’s also looking for some retribution as she finds out she has to go to school with her former bully, Carissa. Nothing brings people closer than some good ‘ol revenge-seeking when Drea and Eleanor team up to give their tormentors a taste of their own medicine in Netflix‘s much-anticipated film, Do Revenge.
Netflix recently shared the official trailer for its Hitchcock-ian dark comedy, Do Revenge, starring none other than fan-favorite, prolific actors, Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke, and we seriously can’t put into words how excited we are for this film to release on Sept. 16. There are a countless amount of things that makes us wish it was premiere day for the film already, so let’s dive into five things we’re most thrilled for in Do Revenge. And, as what Eleanor so profoundly says, “Is do revenge even like, correct grammar?”
1. The cast of Do Revenge is epic
A film with both Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke in it — is our greatest dream finally coming to life?! The answer is… yes, yes it is. Not only will the incredibly talented Hawke and Mendes be gracing our screens in this terrific film, but they’ll also be joined by a phenomenal cast of actors we all are big fans of. Ava Capri, Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, and Alisha Boe will all be sharing their great talents in Do Revenge. Oh, and did we mention that none other than Emmy-nominated actor, Sophie Turner will also be starring in the movie?! See, we told you our greatest dream is coming to life!
2. Do Revenge is directed and written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson
One thing about the unparalleled Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is that she is a total #BossLady. She is the mastermind behind so many extraordinary projects including creating the MTV show, Sweet/Vicious, Netflix’s Someone Great, and she co-wrote Thor: Love and Thunder with Taika Waititi. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is a true visionary and whatever project she works on, she always emphasizes the importance of girl power and highlighting women in film.
3. The film has music by Este Haim
We’re obsessed with HAIM, so when we found out that the one and only, Este Haim worked on music for the movie with Amanda Yamate, we couldn’t contain our excitement. We’re totally going to be jamming to all of the tunes in Do Revenge.
4. All of the outfits in Do Revenge are one word: iconic
After watching the trailer for the movie, we seriously want to grab every single outfit and keep it in our closet. All of the pastels. All of the chic clothing. We. want. it. all. 😩
5. #Glennergy
Need we say more? “You’re giving off some serious Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction energy.” “Glennergy.”
