They’re the trailblazers – the ones making an incredible difference in the lives of so many. They’re the ones using their unmatched talents and great passion for what they do – be it through entertainment, media, technology, or activism – to make a positive impact in the world. They’re the ones who use their determination and perseverance to do whatever it takes to make a mark and encourage others to do the same. They’re the stupendous changemakers.

It was a marvelous, two days celebrating influential women at TheWrap‘s Power Women Summit, which took place virtually on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and in person at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

During the virtual event, the wondrous day kicked off bright and early with opening remarks from TheWrap’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Sharon Waxman. Then, the day started with a remarkable spotlight conversation with none other than the admirable Hillary Rodham Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton. Other spectacular and insightful panels took place throughout the day including another spotlight conversation with director, writer, actor, and producer, Lena Dunham, giving a terrific view from the director’s chair. WrapWomen had a special podcast taping of UnWrapped with Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough, co-moderated by Director of Programming at TheWrap and UnWrapped co-host, Emily Vogel, and TheWrap reporter and UnWrapped co-host, Andi Ortiz. The stellar, first day of the summit also featured a “The Future is Now: Next Gen Hollywood” roundtable with Sex Education star, Aimee Lou Wood, The White Lotus: Sicily’s Haley Lu Richardson, House of the Dragon star, Olivia Cooke, I Wish You All The Best director, Tommy Dorfman, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star, Xochitl Gomez, moderated by Andi Ortiz. The brilliant day continued with even more outstanding panels before wrapping up for the day and preparing for an exciting event at night.

Continuing off all of the excitement from the virtual summit and preparing for the big event in person the following day, TheWrap hosted a magnificent dinner honoring this year’s 22 changemakers. TheWrap’s 2022 Power Women Summit VIP dinner took place on Dec. 13 at the Proper Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Many fantastic celebrities showed their support at the terrific event including this year’s changemaker honorees, Niecy Nash, Thuso Mbedu, and Gina Prince-Bythewood, along with other celebs including Claire Foy, Nastia Liukin, Xochitl Gomez, Christy Carlson Romano, Jillian Mercado, Brooklynne Webb, and many more.

Day two of TheWrap’s Power Women Summit started with some encouraging words from TheWrap Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Sharon Waxman, followed by a keynote address with The Woman King star, Thuso Mbedu, introduced by the film’s director, Gina Prince-Bythewood. Other notable panels during day two included a spotlight conversation with Women Talking star, Claire Foy, and a “The Power of Storytelling: Producers” roundtable with The Dropout showrunner, Elizabeth Meriwether, Welcome to Chippendales co-showrunner, Jenni Konner, Everything Everywhere All at Once co-producer, Sarah Finn, Wolf Pack executive producer, Sarah Michelle Geller, Atlanta and What We Do In The Shadows writer and executive producer, Stefani Robinson, and co-director and co-producer of Aftershock, Tonya Lewis Lee. The event also featured an “Exec Corner: Dealmakers, Deciders, Disruptors” panel as well as an “Empowering Women in Music” panel.

Other groundbreaking panels that took place at TheWrap’s Power Women Summit included a “Let’s Talk About Mental Health” panel with Anna Sitar, Corinne Foxx, Christy Carlson Romano, Genevieve Angelson, Nastia Liukin, and Victoria Garrick Browne, a “Navigating Hollywood in a Post-Roe v. Wade World” panel, a “Bring the Funny: Women in Comedy” roundtable, and for all of the reality TV enthusiasts, a “Let’s Get REAL-ity: The Powerhouse Women of Reality TV” panel.

Music sensation, Sofia Carson, also graced the stage with a breathtakingly beautiful performance at the event.

TheWrap’s Power Women Summit was a phenomenal way to end off the year with the greatest inspiration. It was an amazing event filled with education, excellent workshops, and wonderful, networking opportunities.
