We’re good, yeah, we’re feelin’ alright because Nickelodeon had its most slime-tastic night on Saturday, March 4 live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California at its renowned Kids’ Choice Awards. This year’s spectacular event saw a countless amount of terrific highlights – from high-energy performances to unforgettable and epic slimings. And, of course, many coveted blimps were given to the admired celebs fans voted for in the worlds of TV shows, movies, music, and more.
The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 was hosted by social media sensation, Charli D’Amelio and CBS Mornings co-host and CBS Sports analyst, Nate Burleson. D’Amelio and Burleson were truly the hosts with the most and brought a whole lot of excitement to the phenomenal event. The Kids’ Choice Awards kicked off with a brilliant dance medley featuring Burleson, D’Amelio, and content creators Michael Le and Markell Washington as they showed off their awesome dance moves while recreating some of the biggest dance trends of the year. Then, diamond-selling and Grammy-nominated artist, Bebe Rexha took the stage and had everyone up on their feet dancing and singing along to a live performance of her chart-topping track, “I’m Good (Blue).”
Other sensational highlights include the one and only Adam Sandler being presented with the prestigious King of Comedy silver blimp celebrating his unrivaled and extraordinary career as an actor, writer, producer, comedian, and musician. The one who brings all the laughs, Sandler accepted his award on an opulent throne before getting the ultimate honor – getting doused in Nickelodeon’s signature slime.

More jaw-dropping slimings continued throughout the night including Melissa McCarthy getting slimed by her The Little Mermaid co-stars Awkwafina and Halle Bailey in a dunk tank filled with over 1,500 gallons of slime. The “Lifetime Achievement Award [was] given to Transformers’ heroic leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, presented by Pete Davidson, Dominique Fishback, and Anthony Ramos, cast members from the upcoming sci-fi action film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” (source: press release).
In addition to the slime, slime, slime, the Kids’ Choice Awards is also known for being a night of wonderful, musical surprises. Lil Baby gave a remarkable performance of his song, “California Breeze,” joined by his kids. Music phenomenon, Lil Uzi Vert had an excellent drum-off with 8-year-old drumming prodigy, Justin Wilson II, which ultimately led to a slime-fest on stage.

KCA fans were able to see a WWE showdown with a thrilling tug of war competition with WWE superstars Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods aka Austin Creed, and Big E).
The Kids’ Choice Awards also gave fans exclusive, inside looks at some of the most highly-anticipated projects including “teaser clips from action-adventure fantasy feature film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, presented by cast members Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, and the CG-animated superhero theatrical, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, presented by Seth Rogen and the voice cast Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael), both concluding with slimings” (source: press release). Fans also got a glimpse at the new Monster High 2 movie musical.
