When we think of the G.O.A.T. Tiffany Haddish, we think of the many hats she takes on as a multi-faceted, entertainment powerhouse. She’s an unparalleled comedian whose great, comedic flair can bring sunshine to even the most gloomy day. She’s a spectacular actor who always gives a standout performance in every project that she’s in. And, she also happens to be a magnificent author, who has released several books including The Last Black Unicorn, her picture book, Layla, The Last Black Unicorn, and her latest book, I Curse You With Joy. But, despite her countless successes, one of her greatest achievements yet has to be founding her impactful organization, the She Ready Foundation.
Haddish grew up in foster care and experienced moving from home to home with her belongings in garbage bags. The iconic comedian made it her mission to assist those living in the foster care system and provide resources for them to be able to follow their dreams. One of the many things that the She Ready Foundation does is help give foster youth suitcases, so that they can have the feeling of going on a trip and not feel like they are forgotten, left to carry their life in a garbage bag. The foundation continues to make a tremendous difference in the lives of many through mental health and emotional support, education, mentorship, and more.
The multi-talented and stupendous Haddish celebrated She Ready Foundation’s Adult PROM: A Night Under the Stars and brought all the amazing 80s vibes to the event on May 31 at The Beehive by Sola Impact in Los Angeles, California. Prom queen Haddish was joined by Howie Mandel as her co-host for the event, as funds were raised to empower foster kids and young adults with job skills programs, scholarships, and resources. The event was a big success and brought many of Haddish’s great friends together including Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda Pearman-Maday, Cedric The Entertainer, and many more. California Mayor Karen Bass also attended the event. It truly was a wondrous night in honor of a life-changing nonprofit.

No matter how many trials and tribulations have come her way, the unstoppable and awe-inspiring Haddish has persevered and powered through it all as the true inspiration she continues to be. From starring in an endless amount of hit projects such as Girls Trip, The Afterparty, Haunted Mansion, Like A Boss, and many others, to recently visiting the White House, being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine in 2018, receiving multiple awards, and becoming a New York Times best-seller, it goes without saying that Haddish has and continues to make her younger self, and us all, so proud. The world is a lot more of a better place because Tiffany Haddish is in it and we’re so grateful to her for being a beacon of strength and hope for foster youth, and fans all across the globe.
