The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is one of the most highly-anticipated events of the year and it always promises a ton of excitement. This year brought even more F.U.N. and a whole lot of imagination as it made its way down to Bikini Bottom for an epic celebration of kids’ favorites in pop culture and SpongeBob SquarePants‘ extra special 25th anniversary.
This year’s awards show, which took place on July 13, made history with it being the first year that the KCAs was hosted by animated characters. Tom Kenny, the iconic voice of SpongeBob SquarePants, and Bill Fagerbakke, the voice of the fan-favorite character Patrick Star, hosted the event which featured enhanced graphics, high-tech motion capture and augmented reality, fun celebrity collaborations and appearances from today’s top stars, the brand’s signature orange blimp award, slimings, and so much more.
There were so many amazing highlights from this year’s slimetastic KCAs. Step inside the awards show and see all that went down by reading more below. ⬇️
The multi-talented musician Paul Russell got attendees up on their feet dancing and singing along as he kicked off the KCAs with a performance of his chart-topping, viral track, “Lil Boo Thang,” alongside a montage of all the shows, movies, music, and popular internet sensations seen throughout the year.
The one and only Serena Williams was honored at the event with the highly coveted Legend Gold Blimp Award, recognizing her impact in the worlds of sports, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Multi-hyphenate Kelly Rowland presented the award to Williams at the KCAs.
Of course, the Kids’ Choice Awards isn’t complete without an abundance of epic slimings, and this year’s event sure did deliver on that. Music sensation Jelly Roll, Heidi Klum, and a marching band joined together for a halftime show moment before Jelly Roll was given a good ‘ol sliming from the straw of the giant slushy cup on stage. Actor Henry Golding was slimed as he announced Post Malone as the winner of “Favorite Male Artist,” and the fabulous Reneé Rapp was slimed on stage as she accepted her Orange Blimp for “Favorite Breakout Artist.” Nickelodeon always finds creative ways to award celebs with their well-earned Orange Blimps. Underwater scuba divers revealed Jack Black as “Favorite Villain” before he was doused in slime when he received an Orange Blimp in his mailbox.
The Kid LAROI gave fans a spectacular performance of his songs, “Nights Like This,” “Girls,” and “Stay,” and was treated to a sliming on stage.

To celebrate SpongeBob’s milestone 25th anniversary, the Kids’ Choice Awards featured its first-ever multicolor finale sliming that was blasted from a surprise giant cake given to SpongeBob for his birthday.
Many outstanding celebrities joined in on the KCA fun. Iain Armitage, MrBeast, Benny Blanco, Kylie Cantrall, Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Mckenna Grace, DeAndre Hopkins, Montana Jordan, Ryan Kaji, Anna Kendrick, Post Malone, Shameik Moore, Rita Ora, Raegan Revord, Lexi Rivera, Margot Robbie, Olivia Rodrigo, Adam Sandler, Walker Scobell, and Jordan & Salish Matter all made appearances at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
