For 25 years now, the iconic, animated show, SpongeBob SquarePants, has served as a “home” for us all. It has and continues to bring us all joy, a sense of comfort, and great humor in every episode. A member of the SpongeBob SquarePants family that has been a part of so many incredible memories for both kids and adults is the thrill-seeking, energetic Sandy Cheeks. The fan-favorite Sandy Cheeks is full of life and is always ready to take on whatever challenge may come her way. A lover of science and someone who is always showing off her karate skills, there are so many classic Sandy Cheeks moments that are a part of animated TV history.
The wonderful and immensely talented Carolyn Lawrence has been the voice behind the brave and intelligent character of Sandy Cheeks for the past quarter of a century. And now, Sandy Cheeks has finally gotten her own movie! Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is set to release on Netflix on Aug. 2. “When Bikini Bottom and all its denizens are suddenly scooped out of the ocean, Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob SquarePants journey to Texas to save the town from a villainous plot” (source: Tudum). We’re so elated to see Sandy Cheeks take center stage in this movie and we can’t wait to join her and her ever positive, porous friend, SpongeBob SquarePants, on this high-stakes adventure.
