Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff! ✈️ There’s no time for sad twerking, because we’re making our way to JFK for the trip of a lifetime with the premiere of How to Die Alone, streaming on Hulu on Sept. 13. The series follows Mel, portrayed by the multi-talented Natasha Rothwell, a down on her luck airport employee who’s never been in love. Things already felt like they were all going down in a spiral for Mel, but as if life couldn’t get any worse, she has an accidental brush with death. But, this second chance at life gives Mel the motivation she needs to really spread her wings and fly.

How to Die Alone is the kind of show we all have been waiting and wanting to see. It’s fresh, authentic, relatable, and unlike anything that’s out now. Rothwell, who we all know and love for her unparalleled work in projects including The White Lotus and Insecure, amongst many others, not only created this masterpiece of a series, but also shines in her starring role. How to Die Alone is filled with incredibly hilarious scenes that will, without a doubt, become classic TV moments and unforgettable memes. And, even with all of the laugh out loud-worthy moments, this show manages to bring tons of hope and inspiration to not let fear keep you from taking off.

Hulu and Onyx Collective celebrated How to Die Alone with a special Los Angeles premiere at NYA West Studios in Los Angeles, California on Sept. 4. Guests let their dreams take flight as they were able to get an exclusive look at the first episode of the show. Before the screening, Rothwell and fellow showrunner and executive producer Vera Santamaria welcomed attendees to the event. The remarkable Rothwell then asked guests if she can “put her mic down and just stare [at the audience] for a moment.” It was truly touching to see this creative genius absorb this marvelous moment.

The first episode had guests roaring with laughter. After the screening, attendees were then able to make their way to the Frequent Flyer Lounge at the epic after-party. The after-party was fit for a show this sensational and made guests feel like they were on their next trip and ready to get their passports stamped. Attendees enjoyed fun photo-ops, delicious food and drinks, and even some time singing their hearts out with a little karaoke session!

I had an outstanding time at the premiere of How to Die Alone. Needless to say, I am obsessed with this show and I can’t wait to binge-watch all of the episodes. If you’re looking for your new favorite series, look no further as How to Die Alone is here.
