Whether it’s ringing in the holiday season with the classic The Santa Clause franchise or bringing a whole lot of nostalgia to fans all across the globe as we reminisce over moments with our favorite childhood toys, the prolific Tim Allen has been a big part of everyone’s life. Allen brought a whole lot of laughs to viewers’ screens when he portrayed the role of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor in the hit show, Home Improvement, which followed the trials and tribulations of “The Toolman” as he navigated everyday life with his family. Since then, Allen has been a part of a countless amount of terrific projects both on the big and small screens, including a decade of spectacular work in the series, Last Man Standing.
Allen has become a staple in families’ homes during the most wonderful time of the year with his portrayal of Santa Claus in The Santa Clause trilogy. The holly jolly merriment continued with the release of The Santa Clauses series on Disney+ in 2022.
In addition to that, Allen has lent his voice to and brought to life the fan-favorite, animated character Buzz Lightyear in all four of the Toy Story films that have been released. Through his unparalleled and remarkable talent, the great Tim Allen has and continues to bring so much joy to people of all ages.
Prepare for more excitement as Allen is set to make his return to multi-camera comedy with his new series, Shifting Gears. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allen stars as a “…widower and owner of a classic car restoration business whose adult daughter (Kat Dennings) and teenage kids move back in with him.” Needless to say, anything that the profound Allen works on is pure gold, and we know that Shifting Gears will be nothing short of that.
I had the honor of interviewing the extraordinary Tim Allen, his wife Jane, and their daughter Elizabeth at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA. Allen and his family talked about what it was like for them to be at the special event. Allen also spilled on what adventure he would like to see Buzz Lightyear go on next.
