At the ripe age of nine, Hawk got his first-ever skateboard, and the rest is history. A true icon was made right then and there. He has won a countless number of contests and set some of the most awe-inspiring records. Hawk has more accolades than one can even name and has been inducted into many Halls of Fame, including the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2009. It goes without saying that there is no one quite like Tony Hawk. He is unparalleled and a true hero to skateboard enthusiasts and beyond.
The highly anticipated release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4
Not only has Tony Hawk made an indelible mark in skateboarding, but he’s also made a terrific impact in pop culture as well. Fans all over the world have enjoyed playing his video game series, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. In fact, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be coming out soon with a whole lot to look forward to, including new parks, epic tricks, and more. Aside from his video games, Hawk has also been featured in many film and television projects and has hosted a weekly radio show, showing just how much of a multifaceted powerhouse he is.
Tony Hawk inspires youth
It’s clear that it would take hours upon hours to list all of Tony Hawk’s unmatched accomplishments. One of his best achievements yet has to be his work on The Skatepark Project, a nonprofit organization that helps underserved communities create safe and inclusive public skateparks for youth. According to The Skatepark Project’s official website, nearly $13 million has been awarded to help create public skateparks. In addition, 661 skatepark projects in all 50 states have received funding from the organization. Hawk continues to serve as a beacon of hope, helping youth find their own community and inspiring them to follow their dreams.
We’re so grateful for the sensational difference that Tony Hawk continues to make in the lives of so many people. Without Tony Hawk, there truly would be no skateboarding.
