The youth aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow—they’re transforming the world as we speak. On October 25, celebrities, supporters, and change-makers gathered at the 5th Annual Legacy Ball at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, to celebrate Legacy Youth Leadership (Legacy). This inspiring nonprofit empowers students nationwide through free leadership and mentoring programs that teach young people how to use their time, money, voice, and vote to create positive change right now.
This year’s spectacular event raised an impressive $202,000 to advance Legacy’s mission. The celebration honored renowned casting director David Rapaport, an avid supporter of the organization, who has helped launch the careers of countless young actors in the entertainment industry. Rapaport, whose credits include Gossip Girl, YOU, Riverdale, and The Summer I Turned Pretty, to name a few, received the prestigious Mary Swanson Board of Governors Award for his ongoing dedication to youth empowerment. Profound actor KJ Apa presented Rapaport with the award.
Follett Higher Education also received the Vision Award in recognition of its outstanding contributions and steadfast commitment to expanding Legacy’s reach and impact for students nationwide.
The energy in the room was palpable. Celebrities such as Katherine McNamara, Chrishell Stause, Ronen Rubinstein, Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing and others presented at the event, while attendees enjoyed heartfelt student stories and appearances from Legacy’s celebrity supporters, board members, and host committee leaders. The night also featured a breathtakingly beautiful performance by Descendants: The Rise of Red star Dara Reneé.

“In a world where young people are often underestimated, Legacy Ball is our chance to celebrate the truth: students are already changing the world today,” said Seth Maxwell, Founder & CEO of Legacy Youth Leadership. “We’re thrilled to honor David Rapaport and Follett Higher Education for their unwavering commitment to young people and to showcase the incredible impact of our students. This was Legacy’s biggest night yet.”
