“They’re number one on Peacock, so they must be doing something right.” – Lisa Vanderpump
You heard Lisa Vanderpump — the ratings say it all. Everyone is loving the new season of Vanderpump Rules! It’s a whole new era, with a new cast serving up a whole lot of drama at SUR, and viewers can’t get enough of it. One cast member who has become an instant fan favorite is Shayne Davis. Although he’s not an employee at SUR, Davis joined the cast through his friendship with another Vanderpump Rules cast member, Marcus Johnson. As fans are watching the episodes, we’re learning more about the model/actor and his powerful backstory.
Davis has shared on social media that in 2012, he experienced a life-altering event. He was shot a couple of times in the back and was paralyzed from the waist down. According to his Instagram post, he wrote, “The consequences from an adolescent drug addiction and poor role models. I was told I may never walk again, but by the grace of a power greater than myself, I was given a second chance at life. Since regaining my legs, I’ve walked for Balmain’s runway show, hiked America’s tallest mountain, and done a marathon through Yellowstone, but most importantly, I got into recovery.”
After this new chance at life, Davis has made it his mission to give that same opportunity to others, working as a group facilitator in addiction treatment.
Aside from the incredible and impactful work that he does, Davis is also a familiar face in acting projects and has worked with top fashion brands like Calvin Klein. It goes without saying that we’re all very excited to learn more about Davis in future episodes of Vanderpump Rules.
I had a fantastic time interviewing Shayne Davis about what it was like for him to attend Lisa Vanderpump’s 7th Annual Vanderpump Dog Foundation Gala, what it has been like being part of the new cast of Vanderpump Rules season 12, and so much more only in our VIPAccessEXCLUSIVE interview. Davis even revealed what he thinks his name would be if he were a dog—hear his answer in our interview below.
