Article: Nickelodeon Simulcasts The Kids’ Choice Awards On Nickelodeon, TeenNick & More PLUS “The Thundermans” Clip!

It was the greatest day in award show history. It was the one, the only – Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards! Year after year, the extraordinary Nickelodeon brings together everyone’s favorite celebrities from singers to bands to actors and actresses and YouTube sensations; and of course, there is one thing that Nickelodeon never forgets to bring each year to the award show – the slime, slime and more slime! This year, for the first time ever, Nickelodeon simulcasted the renowned 28th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on all networks including Nickelodeon, TeenNick, NickToons, and TV Land and also streamed on Nick.com and the Nick App on March 28, 2015 at 8-9:30 PM.

Nickelodeon had a thrilling day for viewers as the highly-anticipated night started off with an episode of the hit TV series, The Thundermans at 7:00 PM and an exclusive sneak peek at the much-anticipated, animated TV series, Harvey Beaks at 9:30 PM.

According to the press release, “During the special hour-long episode of The Thundermans, Phoebe and Cherry’s friendship is put to the test when the Thunderman family gets some unexpected news and must prepare for the surprise. Meanwhile, Max goes with Dr. Colosso to accept a Villain of the Decade award. The one-hour hero-filled episode will feature drop-ins from the Kids’ Choice Awards Orange Carpet where The Thundermans’ Jack Griffo and Instant Mom’s Sydney Park will interview all the celebrities.”

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards brought consummate actors, actresses, musicians, singers and bands together under one roof and had a star-studded list of attendees including Nick Cannon, Liam Hemsworth, Jamie Foxx, Zendaya, Kevin James, Meghan Trainor, Echosmith, Debby Ryan, Quvenzhane Wallis, Fifth Harmony, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting who were among the many who wowed the crowd on the Kids’ Choice Awards stage. Profound musicians including Nick Jonas, 5 Seconds of Summer, Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson gave unforgettable performances at the event.

The press release also stated, “Immediately following at 9:30 p.m. (ET/PT), viewers can watch a first-look of Nickelodeon’s all-new animated series Harvey Beaks. Created and executive produced by C.H. Greenblatt (Chowder), this 26-episode series tells the story of the unlikely friendship between Harvey, a kid who’s never broken the rules, and Fee and Foo, his two friends who’ve never lived by any. Harvey Beaks will debut in its regular Sunday night timeslot beginning March 29 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) following a brand-new episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.”

Article: Nickelodeon Announces Season Renewals Of “Every Witch Way” And “Max & Shred” AND Upcoming, New TV Shows!

The renowned Nickelodeon TV is known for its highly-acclaimed and top-ranked TV shows and projects. Today, February 25, 2015 was a very exciting day as Nickelodeon had many extraordinary announcements to bring out to the public. Nickelodeon fans were able to hear news they have been at the edge of their seats waiting for including renewals of some of their favorite shows and some new shows that will be added to the Nickelodeon family.

During the 2015 Nickelodeon Upfronts, Nickelodeon announced the season four pickup of the sensational and remarkable TV show, Every Witch Way and the season two pickup of the terrific and magnificent TV show, Max & ShredEvery Witch Way and Max & Shred fans can look forward to more spectacular, new episodes!

Nickelodeon also announced new TV shows that will be joining the orange family and already the public can tell these shows will be absolute hits for Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon continues to bring out some of the greatest content for all viewers of all ages.

According to the press release, “Between the enormous amount of shows we have in production, and the strong foundation of our recent launches, we are giving our audience some of the most fresh and innovative content we’ve ever produced,” said Russell Hicks, President, Content Development and Production, Nickelodeon. “The new daily scripted shows we’ve picked up are right in line with kids’ demand for more content, in different formats, and we can’t wait for kids to see and love them.”

Let’s take a look at some of the new shows that will be making its way to the small screen on Nickelodeon! (source: press release):

  •  Game Makers (working title), just picked up for 26 episodes, is the newest creation from hit- maker Dan Schneider. It’s a live-action sitcom about two 12-year-old girls who start a multi- million-dollar gaming company and take on rap superstar Double G as a business partner. As part of a multi-platform experience, the games seen in the episodes will be released through apps and online. Schneider will also serve as Executive Producer.
  • Make It Pop, picked up for 20 episodes, is a comedic, music-infused daily strip about three unique girls who come together to start their own K-Pop-inspired band. Randomly selected to room together at boarding school, bookish Corki, fashion-forward Jodi and social media maven Sun Hi meet and bond over music. With the help of fellow boarding school classmate and DJ hopeful, Caleb, the girls grow from roommates to bandmates as they become a school- wide sensation and compete for a place in the upcoming school musical. The series, which will feature original songs and performances in every episode, is co-created by Thomas W. Lynch and Nick Cannon and produced by DHX Media. Make It Pop is executive produced by Lynch and Cannon, together with Steven DeNure and Anne Loi for DHX Media.
  • Talia’s Kitchen (working title), just picked up for 40 episodes, is a live-action series inspired by the daily telenovela format that follows 14-year-old Talia who moves in with her grandmother and starts spending time in the kitchen of their family-owned restaurant. There, she discovers her true calling: cooking. With the help of her special “salt and pepper sense”–and her late father’s magical spices–Talia is able to infuse emotion into her food and cook just what each customer needs. Talia’s Kitchen is created by Catharina Ledeboer and produced by Viacom International. Tatiana Rodriguez will serve as Executive Producer.
  • Mutt & Stuff, which has just been picked up for 20 episodes, is a live-action preschool series produced by Sid and Marty Krofft. Set in a unique school for dogs, the series stars Calvin Millan, The Puppy Whisperer and son of The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, interacting with a cast of real dogs and puppets. Mutt & Stuff is filled with unbelievable dog tricks, adorable puppies, and alternating moments of heart and comedy. The series is created and executive produced by Sid and Marty Krofft and Bradley Zweig. Cesar Millan also serves as Executive Producer.
  • Roll Call (working title), which is currently in development, is a single-camera comedy series shot in a mockumentary style that follows an eclectic group of kids navigating their way through middle school. Roll Call is executive produced by Sharla Sumpter Bridgett and directed by Ian Pfaff.
  • The W.I.T.s Academy (working title; 20 episodes) is a daily strip spun off from the hit Every Witch Way. In this new series, teenage Guardians will oversee young witches- and wizards-in-training at a magical academy. There, the Guardians will have to decide who is friend, and who is foe. The series is created by Catharina Ledeboer and is produced by Viacom International. The W.I.T.s Academy is executive produced by Tatiana Rodriguez.

Wow! What an array of incredible new shows to add to the already magnificent Nickelodeon shows currently airing. Nickelodeon also announced the branding of its partnership marketing services under a new banner – Nickelodeon Inside Out Solutions. Also, Nickelodeon launched a mobile subscription for pre-schoolers which encourages education and entertainment known as Noggin, which will be available on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch starting March 5th for $5.99 a month.

According to the press release, “The proliferation of platforms and massive amounts of new content are having an unprecedented impact on entertainment, and we are using these opportunities to super-serve our audience with fresh content, new formats and innovative storytelling,” said Cyma Zarghami, President, Viacom Kids and Family Group. “We remain laser-focused on using all of the screens and tools in our ecosystem to deliver the biggest audience of kids and families, and creating hits and building franchises that thrill our audience and deliver unrivaled reach.”

Also stated in the press release, “Announcements at the presentation included: Noggin, a mobile subscription service for preschoolers; numerous new content innovations; a sneak peek at a potential SpongeBob SquarePants Broadway musical; future spinoff possibilities for the wildly successful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise; and Nickelodeon Sports, which brings content from the major sports leagues to Nick’s platforms. Nickelodeon also detailed the suite of its partner services that provides consumer insights, advertising solutions and branded-entertainment opportunities, now formalized under the banner of Nickelodeon Inside Out Solutions.

The presentation was augmented by an appearance from Will Arnett–star of Paramount Pictures’ global theatrical hit, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the forthcoming sequel set for 2016; a performance of a song from the SpongeBob SquarePants musical, currently being developed for a potential Broadway debut; and a closing set of songs by pop hit-makers, Echosmith.”

Nickelodeon described another upcoming series being welcomed into the orange family and stated, “Among the new series this season are: School of Rock, a live-action show based on the hit movie, and Nick’s first collaboration with Paramount Television; Harvey Beaks, an animated show about a good kid who has never broken the rules, and his two best friends, who have never lived by any; and Shimmer and Shine, an animated, curriculum-based preschool series about twin genies-in-training who unintentionally cause chaos in their attempts to grant wishes for their best friend, Leah.” (source: press release)

There are many phenomenal award shows which recognize some of the greatest and most gifted celebrities out, but on November 14, 2014, a very unique award show made its way to the Big Apple, NYC to honor kids who “HALO” – ‘Help and Lead Others’. The magnificent and mesmerizing 2014 Nickelodeon HALO Awards took place on November 14, 2014 at New York’s Pier 36 and there was a special vibe in the atmosphere that made the event absolutely indescribable and so magical. The HALO Awards “…is an annual awards show that recognizes real-life kids that are doing extraordinary things in their communities and “Helping and Leading Others” (HALO). In addition to being awarded a grant for their organization and scholarship funds, each HALO Awards honoree is given an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and connect with celebrities that share their same passion for service” (source: press release). The 2014 Nickelodeon HALO Awards will premiere on November 30, 2014 at 7:00 PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and for the first time ever, Nick.com and the NickApp.

Anyone who was at the 2014 Nickelodeon HALO Awards can agree that the night was just exceptional. The remarkable event was hosted by the genius himself, an individual who is so admirable and brilliant that he truly needs no form of introduction, the one and only Nick Cannon. Nick Cannon is not only a multi-threat being a stupendous film star, comedian, musician, writer and executive producer, but he also serves as an incredible role model himself  exemplifying what it is like to be a person who “Helps and Leads Others”. Nick Cannon supports organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Toys For Tots, and STOMP Out Bullying to name a few. Nick Cannon stated, “We’re taking over New York City with the hottest music performers and the most awe-inspiring kids for one huge night at this year’s Nickelodeon HALO Awards. The HALO Awards embodies the altruistic spirit of the holidays with its positive message and I can’t wait to celebrate the terrific work of these young heroes”.

Many remarkable musical performers, HALO celebrity participants and Nickelodeon stars attended the fantastic event and showed NYC what it really is like to be “The City That Never Sleeps”. Musical performers included Fifth Harmony, Echosmith, Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor, The Roots, and The Vamps. Celebrity attendees included Matt Bennett, Benjamin Flores JR., Jack Griffo, Victoria Justice, Kira Kosarin, Sydney Park, Carlos Pena Vega, Fatima Ptacek, Leon Thomas, Breanna Yde, and Zendaya. These outstanding celebrities plus the wonderful honorees made the night one to remember and unforgettable.

  • Lulu Cerone, 15, Los Angeles, Calif. ‐ Through her organization LemonAID Warriors, Lulu Cerone brainstorms, plans events and coordinates “PhilanthroParties,” which mix charity work with regular kids’ festivities using easy-to-follow toolkits. Following her own model, Cerone raised over $58,000 for water projects in Africa, $33,000 for local organizations, and has personally helped plan nearly 200 Philanthro-Parties across the U.S.
  • Yash Gupta, 18, Irvine, Calif. – After an accident left him without his eyeglasses for a week, Yash Gupta was inspired to start Sight Learning, an organization that collects and donates used eyeglasses, sets up eye exams, and gives the gift of sight to students around the world. Since 2010, Sight Learning has donated over 21,000 pairs of glasses to students in need across 14 states in the U.S. and in four countries.
  • Cassandra Lin, 16, Westerly, R.I. ‐ Cassandra Lin is the founder of Turn Grease into Fuel (TGIF), a sustainable program that collects waste cooking oil, from local residents and restaurants, then converts it into biodiesel fuel. The fuel is used to heat the homes of families in need. With 145 participating restaurants and businesses in 22 towns and 20 public receptacles throughout three states, TGIF has collected over 170,000 gallons of waste cooking oil and helped heat the homes of over 290 families to date.
  • Nicholas Lowinger, 16, Cranston, R.I. ‐ Gotta Have Sole – After an enlightening visit to a local homeless shelter, Nicholas Lowinger started Gotta Have Sole in 2010 to provide brand-new footwear to underprivileged children across the United States. To date, the organization works with shelters in 35 states and has provided brand-new shoes to over 21,500 underprivileged kids, giving them the confidence and means to go to school, socialize, succeed and live healthier, happier lives.
  • Alanna Wall, 14, Dayton, Ohio – Striving to brighten the lives of young girls, Alanna Wall created Polished Girlz, an organization that brings trendy nail art parties to those with special needs and frequent hospitalizations. Since its inception in 2011, over 800 volunteers are currently painting girls’ nails in over 25 national chapters in North America.

Nickelodeon also teamed up with DoSomething.Org “to connect kids and teens to the community service initiatives championed by this year’s five Nickelodeon HALO Awards honorees” (source: press release).
