As what the iconic Marilyn Monroe said, “A smile is the best makeup any girl can wear” and that’s exactly what ipsy celebrated at its magnificent Gen Beauty event that took place on March 24 and March 25, 2018 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California. Two days filled with fabulous, makeup tutorials, super fun activations and even the opportunity to meet some of your favorite beauty gurus and influencers – what could possibly be better than that?! Needless to say, ipsy’s Gen Beauty event was a weekend of makeup heaven and the best part about it is ipsy’s inspiring message that beauty is everywhere – both on the inside and out.

The fun started on Friday, March 23rd, when a special, invite-only event took place where up and coming influencers were able to learn all about ways that they can continue to grow their brand and have their social media platforms and reach flourish even more. Workshops and several, helpful panels took place at this intimate event.

Then, bright and early on Saturday, March 24th, the Gen Beauty excitement kicked off. This marvelous event had everything from performances to exceptional workshops that gave attendees the greatest insight into the beauty world. Terrific, fan-favorite musicians brought some extra energy to the ipsy mainstage and got everyone up on their feet with their spectacular performances. Bea Miller, Temecula Road, and The Aces all left everyone in awe during their remarkable sets.

Several, extraordinary workshops also took place on Saturday. Celebrity makeup artist Katey Denno showed attendees how to achieve a radiant look… naturally during the “Naturally Radiant with Juice Beauty and Katey Denno” workshop. Everyone is beautiful in their own way so why not rock your natural, flawless look with these awesome tips and tricks that Katey Denno shared during her workshop. Attendees who were looking for a more edgy look had a workshop perfect for them at the Gen Beauty event. Laura Sanchez showed her makeup skills during the “90s Grunge Goes Runway” workshop. During this workshop, attendees were able to learn how to combine metals and gloss for one epic look that will blow everyone away. Other workshops that took place on Saturday included “Flawless in a Few” and a Maybelline Masterclass hosted by beauty creators: Makeupshayla and Iluvsarahii.

Celebrities and beauty influencers who attended Saturday’s Gen Beauty event included Jasmine Brown, Karen Sarahii, Yasmin Maya AKA Beautyybird, Lynette Cenee, Gabriel Zamora, Nikita Dragun, Laura Sanchez, Jaleesa Moses, Patrick Ta, Temecula Road, Bea Miller, Katey Denno, Karla Bonilla, Makeupshayla, Iluvsarahii, Monique Coleman, Oleysa Rulin, Chandler Kinney and many more.

Boyband sensation, In Real Life took on the ipsy stage to perform several of their greatest hits and a few fan-favorite covers. The outstanding band also performed their excellent, new song “Tattoo” that everyone has been listening to on constant repeat since its release. Check out a clip of their performance of their new single below!

Fantastic workshops that took place on Sunday included “M·A·C STROBE QWEEN WITH Gregory @GregoryArlt & Alicia @peacelovealicia” and “Blend it! with Luxie Beauty” where Paula Galindo and Luxie taught guests how to blend their eye-makeup like a total pro using Luxie brushes.

After award show season, the next season that makes its way on over is FESTIVAL SEASON, of course! Gen Beauty also had a fascinating workshop that showed how to get the best festival hair that everyone will totally be #jealous over. Marc Anthony and Marilisa taught Gen Beauty attendees how to get that one of a kind hairstyle that will make everyone’s head turn at all of the upcoming festivals. You’re bound to get the greatest Instagram picture with your fabulous hairdo. Jennifer Yen also hosted her own workshop called “Fresh Face with Purlisse and Jennifer Yen” where she gave some stellar, skincare secrets. She is a total beauty inspiration to us all.

Beauty gurus have definitely made such a great impact in everyone’s lives – whether it is helping us ace that smokey eye look we’ve always wanted to achieve or by encouraging their fans to believe in themselves and love who they are. Beauty isn’t just the makeup that these influencers use, it’s the way they use their platform for good to motivate others to follow after their dreams, take care of themselves and be confident. It’s so awesome to see everyone at Gen Beauty embrace the total #QUEEN that they are.

Kandee Johnson, Jenn Im, Ann Le, Sarai Jones, Nicole Guerriero, Nikki Phillippi, Christen Dominique, In Real Life, Yasmin Maya AKA Beautyybird, Shayla Mitchel, Madison Miller, Roxette Arisa, Paula Galindo, Madelynn De La Rosa, Micaela Klein, Bailey Sarian, Gregory @GregoryArlt and Jennifer Yen were all in attendance at Sunday’s Gen Beauty event.

VIPAccessEXCLUSIVE: Fan-favorite Celebs Were Doused In An Epic Amount Of Slime At The 2018 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards – RECAP Here PLUS Find Out The Winners From The Award Show!

26 Mar

Here’s a math equation you’ll actually like: Amazing celebrities + fantastic, orange blimps + TONS OF SLIME = the best award show ever – the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards! The renowned and prestigious Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards is one award show that we all get so excited for and we eagerly wait for it to make its way on over to celebrate kids’ favorites in pop culture. This award show is one event that people of all ages love and enjoy. For the kids, it’s an award show that is filled with so much fun (and slime) and an endless amount of terrific moments. For teens and young adults, it helps us relive all of our favorite childhood memories and honors the things we can’t get enough of in the entertainment world – from social media trends to blockbuster hit movies and beyond. And for adults… well, who doesn’t want to see their kids gleaming with joy while they watch the Kids’ Choice Awards?!

Once again, Nickelodeon surpassed everyone’s expectations with another stupendous and extraordinary Kids’ Choice Awards, which took place on March 24, 2018 at the Forum in Inglewood, California. This year’s award show was even bigger, better and SLIMIER than years prior. WWE icon John Cena did a magnificent job being the host with the most for the second year in a row at the KCAs. He brought his unrivaled energy to the award show and he even brought some of his Cena “family” members to join in on the fun. For example, below, we see Fuller House‘s Candace Cameron Bure feeding baby Cena. We also can’t forget Nana Cena’s appearance at the award show too – talk about a whole lot of laughs!

Of course, a Kids’ Choice Awards isn’t complete without a whole lot of celebs and this year’s award show had a countless amount of legendary celebrities who made their way onto the orange carpet to enjoy this exciting day. Celebrities including Mike Tyson and his family, Odell Beckham Jr., Lamar Odom, Channing Tatum, Heidi Klum, Travis Barker and his family, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Laurie Hernandez, Chloe Kim, Yara Shahidi, Kristen Bell, Hailee Steinfeld, Zendaya, the cast of Stranger Things: Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink, amongst many, many others attended the event. On top of the star-studded list of celebs who came to the KCAs, many of them even got honored with a special, slime dousing. (C’mon, who wouldn’t want to be slimed?!)

Some of the many unforgettable slime attacks that took place at the KCAs included Heidi Klum and Mel B getting slimed while presenting an award on a swing-set hovering over a slime pool (sounds risky to begin with!), Liza Koshy (who won the award for Favorite Funny YouTube Creator at the event) was slimed not just once but twice at the event and our #bae Shawn Mendes even got buckets of slime poured on him as a surprise from Henry Danger‘s Jace Norman. The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards ended off with the host himself, Mr. John Cena getting a slime pouring after the crowd got a share of slime too.

The outstanding KCAs got everyone up on their feet with two, spectacular performances. Multi-threat JoJo Siwa took on the stage and brought extra happiness to the event with a fabulous medley of her hit songs “Kid in a Candy Store,” “Hold the Drama,” and “Boomerang.” The lovely and accomplished, young lady also won the award for “Favorite Musical YouTube Creator” at the event. The profound band, N.E.R.D. got everyone dancing along to their exceptional performance of their chart-topping track “Lemon” and had a bunch of talented, kid dancers up on stage to dance along with them. It definitely was one big ‘ol party at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

The KCAs gave the power to the kids and it was all up to YOU guys to help your favorite celebs win big at the award show. Fans were able to vote in a total of 19 categories including four new ones: “Favorite Funny YouTube Creator,” “Favorite Musical YouTube Creator,” “Favorite Dance Trend” and “Favorite Instagram Pet.” In fact, fans were even able to have their voices heard and join in on some live moments at the KCAs. Fans were able to vote and see Black-ish star Marsai Martin wear a pair of “Guac Socks” (yes – it’s as gross as it sounds – guacamole socks!) in an “Eat It or Wear It” challenge. Social media stars and YouTubers Alex Wassabi and LaurDIY took part in a “Fear Box” challenge that fans were able to vote on what they stick their hand into. This award show emphasized the importance of kids being kids and cherishing their childhood. It’s fun to be a kid!

Social media sensations also had an excellent time being Nickelodeon’s KCA prankstars at the event. Brooklyn and Bailey, Alex Hayes, the Stokes Brothers and more took on some challenges and had an epic, prank battle amongst one another.

Other celebrities in attendance at the event include Jace Norman, Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo, Breanna Yde, Lance Lim, Jade Pettyjohn, Aidan Miner, Ricardo Hurtado, Tony Cavalero, Lilimar, Owen Joyner, Savannah May, Lexi DiBenedetto, Amarr Wooten, Daniella Perkins, Madisyn Shipman, In Real Life, Forever In Your Mind, Riele Downs, Ella Anderson, Lizzy Greene, Peyton List, Storm Reid, the cast of Nickelodeon’s new show, Star Falls: Siena Agudong, Kamaia Fairburn, Jadiel Dowlin, Marcus Cornwall and Tomaso Sanelli, YouTuber Annie LeBlanc, Addison Riecke, Sofia Reyes, Aubrey Miller, Ser’Darius Blain, the cast of Hunter Street: Stony Blyden, Daan Creyghton, MaeMae Renfrow, Thomas Jansen, Kyra Smith, Kate Bensdorp, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte, and many more.

So many celebrities took this time at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards to encourage kids to stand up for what they believe in and make a difference in this world. It’s so wonderful seeing a network like Nickelodeon motivate kids to work hard and follow after their dreams and by doing so, they can achieve anything and everything.

I, Alexisjoyvipaccess had the greatest honor of covering and attending the 2018 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and had the most incredible time once again at this phenomenal event. Check out some more pictures below from the KCAs and be sure to stay tuned on YouTube.com/alexisjoyvipaccess for interviews with your favorite celebrities from the event.
