He has made such an extraordinary, everlasting mark in the entertainment world and he is truly a genius who continues to bring out masterpieces after masterpieces for all of his fans to enjoy. Of course, we remember (and constantly have nostalgic memories) over Lance Bass’s NSYNC days, and since then, Lance Bass continues to build such a stellar empire and make a terrific impact in this world. Lance Bass has an endless amount of successes and excellent projects he is working on including all of his accomplishments in the music world, many film projects he has worked on and movies that he produced, and of course, we saw his magnificent dancing skills in the highly-acclaimed ballroom dancing competition show, “Dancing With The Stars.” Lance Bass continues to leave everyone mesmerized with his brilliance and awe-inspiring talent.
Now, Lance Bass is also the host of the hit Logo show, “Finding Prince Charming” and is even in the works with Kris Jenner and Robin Antin on a music competition show. (BRB, totally freaking out over this!) Needless to say, we’re all obsessed with anything and everything that Lance Bass works on and he is truly an asset to the entertainment world. In addition to all of his magnificent projects, Lance Bass also does a lot of philanthropic work where he uses his platform to make a difference in the world and inspire others to do the same. Lance Bass is absolutely extraordinary and continues to be such an influential figure in this world.

Alexisjoyvipaccess: You’re premiering your music video exclusively right here on Alexisjoyvipaccess.com – can you tell us the creative process behind making the music video?
Hope Leigh: Making the song was a blast working with my producers ( Will Noon and Nathan Harold of FUN.) and duetting with Ryan Amador – so coming out of the studio, everything was so positive and I wanted to start thinking of video concepts. With most of my music videos in the past ( Wherever You Go, Save For Now,Home To Me) I would have an idea and try to cast the perfect people to bring it to life as it was playing in my mind, with “Meant To Be”, I hadn’t had an idea that really stuck yet. I stumbled upon a 15 second instagram video from my friend Jordan De Leon. (@JordanLacity ) of her and her boyfriend in Big Sur, and although it was just a casual date for them that they caught snippets on film, to me their young love just looked like a movie. I realized I could capture something so real if I had a real couple in my video as opposed to casting strangers. I called her and was just like ” OH MY GOD! You and your boyfriend are the greatest can we put it to my music?” Luckily she didn’t think I was crazy and they were both stoked to be involved! Luckily, Ryan is a genius with a camera and was able to also shoot my singing to splice in.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: If you could describe your music video in just one word – what word would it be?
Hope Leigh: PUPPYLOVE ( Is that one word?)
Alexisjoyvipaccess: What are you looking forward to the most for fans to see in your music video?
Hope Leigh: This year has been really exciting for me coming out of by band Me & Mr. Cassidy as a solo artist, and it’s been so exciting to show my fans such a playful side of me, through songs that are coming straight from my heart. When I wrote this song, I wanted to capture that young reckless feeling when you first fall in love and just want to run away and do everything together. I didn’t even have a chorus because I just wanted it to reflect that 0-60 feeling you get in your heart, I am so excited to have a video that shows that with a REAL couple REALLY running away for the weekend just to adventure in love. Their relationship is so genuine, I am excited to have my song behind it.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: What was the atmosphere like on set of your music video?
Hope Leigh: That majority of the shots ( of Ryan and Jordan) were shot by them on their trip together, so while I don’t know exactly what it was like, from what we can all see it was clearly a lot of fun, playful, romantic, and careless. I think it was so real – as opposed to shots I’ve gotten in the past where a couple is acting and there are directors in the room and camera men, and a half a dozen crew members, this was just them being in love, nothing is perfect, but it feels like you are just in their room with them. The shots with me and Ryan were filmed in Pasadena and Echo Park, and Ryan is such a blast to work with it was so much fun! He does a lot of parkour competitions, so he shot a lot of this while riding past me on a skateboard, or hanging off walls- its really impressive! ( fun fact, the shot that looks like a drone flying over a cliff was actually him RUNNING down a cliff with a camera over his head shooting slow mo- he is really a daredevil!) Some of the shots were slow motion with me singing, so we speed the song up to 2.5 times as fast and then I sing it CRAZY fast which is always a funny process. A few passers by probably thought I was crazy. It was the most laid back easy video to shoot – coming off my last video Home To me that had like 40 girls lip singing in my apartment and 300+ global submissions- it was so relaxing to shoot such an intimate video.

1. Can you tell us what the atmosphere was like working on set of the music video for your song, “Save For Now” which stars Michael Turchin and Tatyana Ali?
It was so incredibly playful. One of the Producers, Noah, has been a friend of mine since College and our interaction is very sibling-like as you can see in the Behind The Scenes Video! (http://youtu.be/FOVirflxdJ8). Our Hair stylist is one of my best friends, and the MUA I had just worked with on a Brow Gal photoshoot so the glam-squad felt very tight-nit! Usually, as the only girl in the band, our studio time is very masculine – so it was fun to be girly and primped. It was fun for Michael and Tatyana to work together because Michaels husband Lance Bass, was obviously in NSYNC and Tatyana actually used to open for them on tour back in the day – it was so full circle. Lance surprised Michael on set, and came to say hey to Tatyana, and it blended to well with the entire day- it just felt like everyone had been friends forever. Tatyana and Michael play a couple in the video so it was good they felt close so quick, their love is really believable on film. In the more serious moments on set, everyone was so professional. The director Tony IS SO EFFICIANT and fast, thank god for him – because the rest of us took every chance we could get to laugh.
2. What was the creative process like for you and your band, Me & Mr. Cassidy when making your song, “Save For Now”? Where did you get your inspiration for the song?
Some of our songs start from Scott, and some me – this one started with Scott and when he brought it to me (Hope) I was instantly in love. I felt connected to it as if it had come from my own experiences. It has been fun to see that we each interpret what it means separately.
We started to record it with Celebrity Producer Michael Smidi Smith. He has worked with everyone from Sia to Miley to Haim, and it felt so incredible to be in his space – it really felt like the big times. We tracked the initial guitar as his home studio in Los Angeles, and finished the project with our main producer Ellis Tucker and had a handful of other Engineers come on board. ( Daniel Krieger and mastering from Alex Johns) We pulled a lot of inspiration tracks to help place what instrumentation we wanted to add since the song was initially just guitar and vocals. We knew we wanted it to be bigger for the video.
We brought on Bassist Conor Gaffney ( The Makepeace Brothers) and drummer Mike Garzon ( HELLOGOODBYE) for the final mix and we could not be happier. I get spoiled by the talent around me and all of these boys are brothers to me.
3. If you could describe the “Save For Now” music video in 1 word – what word would that be?
Time. ( Though it isn’t a descriptive work, the entire video played with time – it is shot entirely in slow motion, and each scenes shows a version in the present as well as in the past.

1. What inspired you to focus your life around music?
Hope Leigh: When I was 3 my parents enrolled me in a Suzuki school and I started taking violin, since then I’ve only ever done music. It’s something I consider fun but also lucky to build a career out of.
2. Who are some of your musical influences?
Hope Leigh: BEYONCE. My music may not sound like hers …. but I love her. I look up writing wise a lot to Adele, Sam Smith, Ingrid Michaelson, Gladys Knight – really anything Motown – but if you’re in my car…… We’re probably bumping BEYONCE.
3. How would you describe your music?
Hope Leigh: Sassy – folk – pop . Very literal and honest, pop melodies, and corky instruments. If someone makes my heart or breaks my heart I’ll write a song about it. Recently I was running out of material though- so I wrote about my friend who is 12 struggling with algebra.
4. You just recently performed at Lance Bass’s wedding, what was that experience like for you?
Hope Leigh: I NEVER get nervous to perform, but I was shaking. It was a last minute song change so I had just learned it on uke that day. I kept trying to make sure I had enough champagne to calm my nerves but not too many that I couldn’t play. I looked out right before I took the stage and despite seeing dozens of my idols – I told myself – they are just people. Just people at a wedding. Do this for Lance and Michael. I closed my eyes the whole song to make sure I didn’t cry. Though I had met most of them before – I also can’t say enough how incredibly sweet all of the NSYNC members were to me and hilarious guys – especially on the dance floor!
5. If you could describe the feeling you get when you perform in just one word, what word would that be?
Hope Leigh: Natural. It just feels like – this is what I do. Like any person who goes to work.
6. If you could collaborate with any other musician, alive or not, who would it be?
Hope Leigh: BEYONCE. Did I say her already? I’m never a fan girl but when I saw her on her last tour I just stood and cried. But also, on a real note Etta James.
7. 2015 will definitely be a big and exciting year for you! What other upcoming projects are you working on that your fans can look forward to?
Hope Leigh: My band, Me & Mr. Cassidy shot a music video this past year starring Michael Turchin ( Lance’s husband) and Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince of Bel Air) for our song “Save for Now” it will be out mid January and it’s really a beautiful shot. Also, my first solo EP in 6 years produced by Will Noon (drummer – FUN.) and even a European Tour in March! There is so much to look forward to – I can’t wipe the smile off my face.
8. Lastly, if you could bring out one message to all your fans and supporters – what message would that be?
Hope Leigh: Recently, at Lance’s bachelor party I was dancing with SNL alumn Cheri Oteri- we posed for a photo and both took a specific pose and I joked it was to “make my arm look thinner”. She took me by the hand and very firmly said “NO! Don’t do that. You are young and beautiful and you don’t need to fall into that. You are funny and warm – just go forward as that”. It blew my mind. I’ve spent 5 years in HOLLYWOOD and a part of this industry is to look the part. After that, I immediately focused on the work and not my appearance. I am striving to pass that forward to all of my fans. Don’t try to fit the mold, just come as you are with an open heart.
