The 2023 GRAMMY Awards was an event that had everyone buzzing. From Queen Beyoncé making history to Harry Styles winning album of the year, there were a countless amount of highlights from music’s biggest night. But, what’s just as exciting as the GRAMMYs itself, are all of the terrific GRAMMY events that happen leading up to the big day… like the Gold Meets Golden event, which took place on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023 at the Virginia Robinson Gardens in Beverly Hills, California.
The spectacular event celebrated how the biggest names in the entertainment industry and the most renowned athletes inspire one another and gave these superstars a chance to join together for a truly remarkable occasion. Co-hosted by Nicole Kidman and Nadia Comăneci, this year’s event was an extra special one commemorating Gold Meets Golden’s 10th anniversary. Not only was the marvelous event a perfect way to have kicked off GRAMMY weekend and honor great celebrities and sports stars alike, but it also benefitted Angel City Sports, “an LA-based adaptive sports organization that provides access to needed equipment, coaching, and training for aspiring young Paralympic hopefuls, and produces a yearly competition for athletes with physical disabilities, the Angel City Games” (source: press release).
“Gold Meets Golden 2023: For the Record was presented by Ottobock, a leading manufacturer of prosthetic and orthotic devices and technology worn and used by the disabled and amputee community across the world, including by many Paralympians. CODEX Beauty Labs, Herradura Tequila, FASHWIRE, and BOSE were also sponsors” (source: press release).
An abundance of celebrities and record-breaking Olympic medalists joined in on the fun at the event. Nadia Comăneci, Metta World Peace, Pepa of Salt-N-Pepa, Wednesday star Hunter Doohan, Tom Daley, Gus Kenworthy, Adam Rippon, Greg Louganis, Helio Castroneves, Ginny & Georgia star Brianne Howey, Trevor Donovan, Cheryl Burke, Missy Franklin, and many more showed their support at the wonderful event. Lance Bass and husband, Michael Turchin, also attended this year’s celebration with their adorable children making their first ever red carpet debut.
Guests at the event were able to enjoy specialty cocktails and drinks, delicious hors d’oeuvres, ice-cream from Cosmic Bliss, mouth-watering cookies from Stella Barra, and terrific, gifting opportunities from brands including Nathan Sports.
Attendees were also treated to a phenomenal performance by the immensely talented Shoshana Bean and Stephen Schwartz. The Aqualillies left guests in awe with their breathtakingly beautiful synchronized swimming routine. The Gold Meets Golden excitement continued with a fabulous fashion show from FashWire.
