Education is an important part of everyone’s life and in order to have a successful time in school and getting the best education you can get, it’s a necessity to have people there to support you and encourage you to do everything to the best of your abilities in school. In an all new, inspiring episode of Nickelodeon’s phenomenal show, The HALO Effect, the episode profiles 17-year-old Stephanie Quintero and her amazing work supporting underprivileged children in the US with tutoring opportunities. The episode is set to air on Friday, September 23rd at 8:30 PM ET / PT.
According to the press released, “Quintero founded “Chicos and Kids” in 2010 after visiting her grandparents in Colombia and learning that the local kids’ school was underfunded. Along with her brother, Quintero began teaching English classes to kids in Colombia every summer and she has also inspired another young girl to teach English in Guatemala. “Chicos and Kids” focuses on teaching underprivileged and immigrant children in Maryland, who are struggling in school and need help adjusting to American culture.” As a result of all of Stephanie Quintero’s hard work, Nickelodeon will be awarding her organization a $10,000 grant.
With each exceptional episode of The HALO Effect, the profiled teen brings out an exciting HALO Effect Challenge that motivates viewers to get up and Help And Lead Others too. Stephanie Quintero is asking all viewers to share a photo of them with a sign thanking a teacher / mentor or volunteering to be a mentor and to use the hashtag #HALOEffectChallenge – what a wonderful way to influence others to get involved.
