The Orthopedic Institute for Children has and continues to work endlessly to changes the lives of children who suffer from orthopedic problems. Its impact is unprecedented and the Orthopedic Institute for Children (OIC) has helped a countless amount of kids to live the happy and healthy lives that they deserve. The OIC celebrated its international impact at its spectacular 2018 Stand For Kids event that took place on June 2, 2018 at the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica, California. The event brought together incredible celebrities and outstanding performances all for an excellent cause.

The brilliant and sensational actress Debby Ryan hosted the terrific event. Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated performer Matthew Morrison was the extraordinary headline entertainer. Actor Christopher Gorham was the event’s Master of Ceremonies. The event also honored Harry McKellop, Ph.D, the Automobile Club of Southern California and UCLA Health for the admirable work that they do to help kids suffering from orthopedic conditions.

According to the press release, “At the gala Harry McKellop, Ph.D was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his prolific work which has resulted in 12 patents to date on novel methods to reduce polyethylene wear in orthopedic implants. As a teacher and mentor, he has touched the lives of countless orthopedic fellows, residents and volunteer student workers who spent time in his labs over the past three decades. The Automobile Club of Southern California has been a supporter of the children served by OIC for 40 years and was honored with the Corporate Pinnacle Award. UCLA Health was honored with the Power of Partnership Award in honor of their 20-year anniversary of the alliance between UCLA and OIC. The unique partnership between UCLA and OIC creates a platform for unparalleled contributions to patient care and scientific discovery in orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine.”

The event was so inspiring and absolutely touching. All of the proceeds help to make sure that kids who have orthopedic problems get the assistance and care that they need. To see the life-changing results that the Orthopedic Institute for Children has done is so heart-warming. Anything can help and you can make a difference in the lives of kids by joining in on the work that the OIC does to provide timely, first-rate medical care to kids in need.
