What better way to start off your morning than being in a room full of sensational #BossLadies?! Nothing could possibly get better than that. Dress for Success Worldwide-West, a “not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools,” celebrated its 7th Annual Empower Breakfast on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the gorgeous Taglyan Cultural Complex in Los Angeles, California. With over 200 guests in attendance, attendees were able to learn more about the strides that Dress for Success continues to make to help women achieve their greatest goals. Actress Minnie Driver was in attendance at the event to show her support towards the commendable work the organization does.
Driver has always been an avid supporter of Dress for Success. She shared the remarkable post as seen below on her Instagram account and wrote, “These amazing women✨We were all at the Dress For Success women’s empowerment breakfast today. @dfswest is a pretty extraordinary organization. It began in a church basement in Harlem in 1996, suiting up women with few means or support systems to help them find work. I remember dropping off clothes in my twenties and still do it today. Today however, Dress For Success has vastly expanded its support system beyond clothing economically challenged women in business attire. They offer mentorships, financial education and courses on how to interview for and actually get a job. They embody the holistic idea of female empowerment. I love these women and this organization – they are changing the world ✨ #empowerher @tracybrennan @goldilocksg #mywhowhatwear (Top from Target, trousers from @miumiu back, back, BACK in the day ✨).”
At the breakfast, guests were welcomed by CEO and Founder of Style on the Spot, Cachita Hynes, who served as the MC for the event. Lesley Brillhart, the Director of Dress for Success Worldwide-West, and Natalie Borneo, the VP of Multi-Site Operations and Compliance at Dress for Success Worldwide, also welcomed guests and kicked-off the event in a marvelous event.
Guests were able to enjoy a delicious breakfast consisting of eggs, hash browns and bacon with coffee and juices. The stunning and elegant atmosphere of the Taglyan Cultural Complex added onto the beauty of the event. The event continued by honoring community partners. The honor was accepted by Liz Schwalbach, the VP of Human Resources at Goodwill Southern California.
