Alexisjoyvipaccess: You have a countless amount of marvelous projects going on. Congratulations to you on all your success! Can you tell us what inspired you to focus your life around acting?
Aria Brooks: My biggest inspiration is definitely my mom. She is a Performing Arts educator and, for a period of time, she was my teacher. The things I saw her doing looked like so much fun. Although she taught more of the musical theatre part, I fell in love with all forms of acting.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: You star as Nola in Netflix’s Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings. Can you tell us what it was like for you working on the episode, “Cracker Jack?”
Aria Brooks: It was so much fun! Everyone was so nice, including the crew behind-the-scenes. I loved how, although everyone was making sure they were focused and working hard, they were still amazing people to work and interact with. I also got an opportunity to meet Dolly Parton, so that was a big plus.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: What is the biggest takeaway / message you would like viewers to get after seeing your episode of Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings?
Aria Brooks: The biggest takeaway from my episode in particular would be to value every friendship. I feel that friends are a crucial part of your life’s story. They can be there for you through good times and bad.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: You also recently joined the cast of Nickelodeon’s All That. What has it been like for you working on the super fun show?
Aria Brooks: Awesome! The cast is wonderful, the crew is amazing, and the snacks are great. Everyone has been very welcoming. It’s also been an honor to work alongside and learn from some of the original All That cast-members.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: If you could have anyone guest-star in Nickelodeon’s All That, who would you like it to be?
Aria Brooks: I would want Nia Sioux to guest-star on the show because I love her and her work. She is inspirational to girls everywhere and I’d love the opportunity to meet her.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: To add onto your many accomplishments, you also appeared in the award-winning film, Harriet. If you could describe what it was like working on the movie in just one word, what word would that be?
Aria Brooks: INSPIRATIONAL. Harriet Tubman was portrayed as a real-life superhero. Her strength was amazing. Also, it was a big inspiration to work with such talented actors/musicians. They were very supportive and gave advice on how to better myself as an actor and a person.
Alexisjoyvipaccess: Lastly, if you could bring out one message to all of your fans, what message would that be?
Aria Brooks: My message would definitely be to stay true to yourself. So many people tend to try to fit into a box that others create for them, but it’s important to be truly you.
