‘Twas a golden start to 2020 as Hollywood’s finest stars and top athletes gathered together at a ravishing pre-Golden Globes event, the 7th Annual Gold Meets Golden brunch, which took place on January 4, 2020 at the historic Virginia Robinson Gardens and Estate in Beverly Hills, California. The best of the best in both the entertainment and sports worlds helped kick-off awards season in a stellar way at the inspiring and magnificent event. Not only was Gold Meets Golden a star-studded and brilliant event, but it also benefitted Angel City Sports, “a Los Angeles organization who fosters young, disabled athletes with the resources, coaching and equipment they need to train as future adaptive Paralympic hopefuls” (source: press release).
Hosted by the unrivaled and consummate actress, Nicole Kidman and the unparalleled, Olympic gold-medalist, Nadia Comaneci, the Gold Meets Golden event was a remarkable way to welcome in our very own roaring 20’s. Renowned celebrities including Rami Malek, Naomi Watts, Jon Voight, Taron Egerton, Cynthia Erivo, Matt Bomer, Chris Evans, Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, Beanie Feldstein, Ben Platt, Zoey Deutch, Kaitlyn Dever, Joey King, Sistine Stallone, and Storm Reid, were amongst the many respected stars who showed their support towards the excellent event. Legendary athletes including Kristi Yamaguchi, Greg Louganis, Ibtihaj Mohammed, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Apolo Anton Ohno, Willie Gault, and more enjoyed their time at the brunch. Celebrities and sports stars wished good luck to the admirable athletes joining the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Summer Games, beginning in six months.

With the breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere of the Virginia Robinson Gardens and Estate and the incredible perseverance and dedication of the athletes and stars to their craft, the Gold Meets Golden event was indeed… golden. Golden Globe-nominee Cynthia Erivo left everyone speechless with a spectacular performance at the event.
Presenting partners including Coca-Cola and BMW had exciting activations for attendees to enjoy at the event. According to the press release, “Coca-Cola showcase[d] their wide portfolio of beverage brands, while rolling out a new “World Without Waste” plan to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can they sell globally by the year 2030.” BMW showcased its new specialty Golden 8 Series, made exclusively for Gold Meets Golden, and also “display[ed] innovative Olympic and Paralympic equipment, including the BMW designed Olympic medal-winning Bobsled” (source: press release).
The Gold Meets Golden event continues to mesmerize all attendees. In fact, many celebrities including Nicole Kidman and Matt Bomer proudly and whole-heartedly support the phenomenal event year after year.
Matt Bomer praised Cynthia Erivo for her flawless performance at the event as seen in the Instagram post below. Along with the post, Bomer wrote, “Every year @goldmeetsgolden gets more incredible. I grew up watching the Olympics pretty religiously, and I always love meeting the athletes who I’ve admired most of my life, and a lot of the new ones representing us this year. Attendees at the Gold Meets Golden event were treated with an outstanding and jam-packed gift-bag from the Mr. Morris Foundation, with a value of over $10,000.
