During the toughest of times, the best thing we can all do is be kind to one another. In the midst of the Coronavirus panic, actor, investor and philanthropist Patrick Schwarzenegger experienced an inspiring and touching encounter that brought light and hope to both himself and his followers. Schwarzenegger shared a video on his Instagram account detailing the moment and he encouraged his followers to engage in acts of kindness, especially during this stressful time.
While Schwarzenegger was shopping, he was shocked that almost everything at the past three supermarkets he went to was sold out. Then, a woman came up to him and said, “Are you looking for toilet paper? I just grabbed the last two a few minutes ago. Do you want one of mine? I rather you have one and I get one than you have nothing.” Schwarzeneggar politely declined, but was in awe by the gesture and described it as a “real feel-good moment.”
The multi-talented Patrick Schwarzenegger continued the video by saying, “It had me thinking about little acts of kindness, and how in such a weird time like right now – weird economic time, weird societal time and political time – how us as Americans, as a nation, as neighbors, as humans, we can really come together to help one another.”
The 26-year-old emphasized that “we really don’t know what people are going through,” and therefore we should “reach out to a friend, reach out to a family-member, reach out to a neighbor – ask them how they are, ask them if you could do anything for them, because we don’t know what people are really going through and it’s a weird time and we’re all in it together.”
The brilliant Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote along with the video he shared on his Instagram account, “Small ACT OF KINDNESS during a crappy day. What a week it’s been… think we’re all feeling little off.. I hope we can all use this time to find ways to come together & help others. We don’t know what anyone else is going through right now.. sick or not.. unstable work/economic conditions.. BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER!!”
