Lights, Camera, Action! The curtains are raised and a group of amazing middle-schoolers are taking center stage in the brand new, Nickelodeon series, Drama Club premiering digitally on Saturday, March 13th on the Nick app and Nick.com. The remarkable, mockumentary series truly stands out as something that has never been seen before on the network and parallels the great comedic chops and format of The Office. With a brilliant ensemble of the most immensely talented actors and actresses and tons of hilarious moments in every scene, this is your cue to get ready for your new show obsession, Drama Club!
Drama Club follows a group of middle-schoolers as they shine a light on the inner workings of their school’s overlooked drama club. “In the premiere episode, the Tookus Middle School Drama Club has a new student director who is excited to take over, change the school’s perception of the club, and earn their new principal’s support. However, when their choreographer suffers an injury, the kids quickly realize that their only hope to save the situation is to turn to a rival on their school’s beloved football team for help” (source: press release).
The sensational series stars a magnificently gifted cast comprising of Telci Huynh as “Mack,” Nathan Janak as “Oliver,” Lili Brennan as “Darcy,” Kensington Tallman as “Bianca,” Chase Vacnin as “Bench” and Artyon Celestine as “Skip.”
Huynh, Janak, Vacnin, Celestine, Brennan and Tallman make the absolute dream team to bring out such a fun and entertaining show that will literally make you laugh out loud. Each character in the series has their own unique personality – from the total jock Bench, to the drama club superstar, Oliver, the oh, so glam Bianca, the fun-loving best-friend everyone needs, Skip, the hilarious Darcy and the determined go-getter, Mack. All of the characters’ vibrant personas shine in the series and when joined together, they make one stupendous Drama Club family.
Filled with awesome props and fantastic costumes, Drama Club is taking us all back to middle-school and will make us feel like we’re right there with the cast on opening night of the school play. This isn’t a run-through, it’s the real deal, Drama Club is bound to bring show-stopping excitement to our screens as the talented crew makes sure the show must (might) go on!
