A Nickelodeon occasion isn’t complete without a whole lot of slime, of course, so you can expect to see tons of Nickelodeon’s specialty green goo for a football telecast like no other.

Fans are in for a treat during the NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon as this definitely isn’t your average football game. This exciting presentation will feature “original, on-field graphics, advanced augmented reality including an AR blimp that will fly throughout the stadium, a special pregame and halftime presentation, guest appearances from Nickelodeon characters, and much more for kids and families” (source: press release). The NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon will allow viewers to fully immerse themselves into the game in a creative, fun-filled, and high-energy way. Will you catch SpongeBob and his crew passing the ball or Lincoln Loud making a touchdown? You’ll just have to tune in to see which of these beloved Nickelodeon friends will be making their way to the NFL Super Wild Card Weekend celebration.

Speaking of Nickelodeon friends, for a game this exhilarating, we need just the right announce team to welcome in all of the fun. Well, Nickelodeon recently revealed the terrific broadcast team who will be keeping us all up-to-date on the latest game plays during the momentous day. None other than CBS Sports’ analyst and former NFL player, Nate Burleson, play-by-play announcer, Noah Eagle, and Nickelodeon’s That Girl Lay Lay star Gabrielle Neveah Green will be back in the booth calling the game. Fans loved all of the amazing charisma and camaraderie they brought to last year’s NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon telecast, so we’re absolutely thrilled to see this remarkable trio reunited again for this year’s event. Rap master and Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan star, Young Dylan will be making his debut at this year’s game as a sideline reporter. It goes without saying that Burleson, Eagle, Green, and Young Dylan make the greatest, power group and there’s no other way we’d like to continue to ring in football season than with this fantastic team. In addition, Young Sheldon star Iain Armitage will also help explain penalty calls during the game.

Nickelodeon will be needing viewers’ help to honor one of the game’s top performers with the Nickelodeon Valuable Player (NVP) recognition. Kids can vote online at NFLNickPlay.com.

More excitement ensues during “halftime, [where fans will get an] exclusive look at Nickelodeon’s brand-new animated series Big Nate, based on the best-selling children’s books and comic strip written and drawn by Lincoln Peirce. The series follows Nate, a sixth-grade kid who has a never-ending need to prove his awesomeness to the world and is set to debut on Paramount+ in early 2022” (source: press release).

Each week, Nickelodeon has been getting viewers extra hyped for football season through the NFL Slimetime series hosted by Young Dylan and Nate Burleson, where they talk about highlights from the games, feature outstanding commentary from George Johnston IV, and interviews with NFL sports stars by Dylan Schefter. NFL Slimetime will continue to air weekly on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with episodes available to stream on Paramount+ the following day, through Feb. 16, the week of Super Bowl LVI.
