Whether you know him as Abe Sapien in Hellboy, the faun in Pan’s Labyrinth, the amphibian man in The Shape of Water, or Saru in Star Trek: Discovery, one thing is for sure, the great Doug Jones always leaves an everlasting impact in every project he works on. Jones is the definition of the word “prolific.” If you scroll through his IMDB, it looks like a never-ending list. His incredibly successful career spans decades and he’s been a part of some of the most renowned projects, bringing to life a countless amount of iconic characters. Known for his work portraying non-human creatures, it’s evident that Jones pours his heart and soul into every one of his roles and he truly makes each one so memorable.
So few actors have a career that is comparable to Doug Jones’. He’s an iconic actor and his style of acting is one to marvel over. The way he utilizes his body language to convey a story and portray a variety of different characters – from unique to downright terrifying – just shows how much of a stupendous actor Doug Jones truly is. Jones is a gift to the entertainment biz. It’s rare to come across someone who has as much of a distinct talent as Jones, someone who can take on hundreds of different characters throughout his career and make each one special in its own way. What would the acting world be without Doug Jones? Well, it simply wouldn’t be the same.
