The remarkable, force of nature who portrays the role of our very own Captain Michael Burnham is profound actor, Sonequa Martin-Green. The brilliant Martin-Green is a true treasure to the entertainment business. Her talent is unsurpassed and she is the perfect choice to have taken on such a powerful, female lead character. Martin-Green is a big reason why Star Trek: Discovery is the massive hit that it is. She also made Star Trek history as the first black female captain in the entire franchise. Aside from being the face of one of the biggest shows to date, the spectacular Martin-Green has also shared her marvelous talent in a countless amount of other highly-acclaimed projects including the blockbuster hit movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy, the Netflix film, Holiday Rush, as well as fan-favorite series including The Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, New Girl, and many others.
Despite having such a successful career, Sonequa Martin-Green remains to be one of the most humble individuals on this planet. She is always flashing her million-dollar smile and her extreme kindness fills everyone’s heart with joy. Martin-Green is one-of-a-kind.
