Welcome to Ghost Island, where anyone who checks into room 13… never checks out! Nickelodeon is back at bringing all the scares in the much-anticipated, third chapter of its riveting, anthology series, Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island. Nickelodeon has captivated audiences with two, thrilling seasons of the hair-raising show, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, based on the ’90s kids’ cult classic. Now, for its third installation of the series, we’re introduced to a new group of Midnight Society members coming up against a whole new experience of shrills and thrills.
Nickelodeon recently released the official trailer for Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island and it is… terrifying 😳 We see ghosts, walls dripping with blood, and glass shattering, so needless to say, just from seeing the trailer, you’re going to need to sleep with the lights on after watching this show.
The new group of Midnight Society members are sure in for a major surprise. What they thought was going to be a fun escape to a tropical island, ends up becoming the most frightening vacation of their lives. “In the premiere episode, “The Tale of Room 13/The Tale of the Teen Spirit,” four best friends get more than they bargained for and encounter genuine terror locked away in one of the rooms after checking into a hotel on a resort island. Then, as the kids try to enjoy summer vacation, they are pulled back into the mystery of the island’s ghosts, ultimately leading them to a terrifying and shocking revelation” (source: press release).
Let’s meet the new members of the Midnight Society:
Telci Huynh: Telci Huynh stars as Kayla in Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island. Huynh is a familiar face in the Nickelodeon family. She’s starred in the network’s mockumentary-style series, Drama Club. She’s also shared her great talent in other projects including in Disney Channel’s Coop and Cami Ask the World, Netflix’s Team Kaylie, and many more.
Conor Sherry: Sherry plays the role of Max in Nickelodeon’s nail-biting series. The terrific actor exhibited his fantastic, acting skills in the newly-released Amazon Prime Video series, The Terminal List. He also worked on the movie, The Devil You Know.
Luca Padovan: Padovan takes on the role of Leo in Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island. Fans know the exceptional Luca Padovan for his work in the highly-acclaimed Netflix series, You. He’s also lent his voice to animated characters Rolland Poly in The Rocketeer and Jett in Super Wings! A fun fact is that Padovan is also a gifted, musical theater actor and has performed in School of Rock the Musical on Broadway.
Dior Goodjohn: Goodjohn will be bringing the role of Summer to life in the Nickelodeon series. Goodjohn has been seen in projects including Head of the Class and Raven’s Home. She will also be portraying the role of Clarisse La Rue in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Goodjohn is also a magnificent dancer.
Chance Hurstfield: Chance Hurstfield plays Ferris in the series. Some of the many projects he’s been a part of includes A Million Little Things, Fatman, Good Boys, and many others. Hurstfield is also a phenomenal voice-actor who has shared his talent in animated series including Chip and Potato, Team Zenko Go, PAW Patrol, and more.
Rounding out the cast is Julian Curtis, who stars as Stanley Crane, the hotel manager at the island resort. Curtis has starred in projects including Wish Man, Spooked, and more.
