High school—it can either be the time of your life or a period you’d rather forget. For Susie and Bobbie, the start of the school year makes it feel more like the latter. School is officially in session at Clovis Central High. The lighthearted and incredibly entertaining film Almost Popular sets the high school scene we all know so well. Clovis Central High has every clique you can imagine: the athletes, the drama kids, and the popular crew known as the Pop Girls. And then there are best friends Susie and Bobbie, who are just trying to find their place.
For a moment, it seems like Susie and Bobbie’s chance to rock high school arrives when they discover an instant way to go viral—buying TikTok followers! Their overnight success quickly comes crashing down when the school finds out their social media fame is fake. But Susie and Bobbie soon form an alliance with Renee, a member of the Pop Girls, who gives them pointers on how to effortlessly fit in and win at high school. From tips on self-presentation to High School Parties 101, Renee helps Susie and Bobbie embrace who they are and discover that the real key to surviving high school is simply being yourself.
